voice;
[There a click on, and the clear sound that someone is there, but there's a pause, like maybe someone is making sure.]
Is this broadcast going through?
I think I got it-
Hello, Tranquility, my name is Steve Rogers.
I'd like to be directed to whoever is in charge of Security, if that's not too much trouble. And I'd like to know if it's possible to see out into space. Are there any windows on board?
[Annnnd a pause, and a fumble.]
Is it off?
[And then another pause.]
Sorry, excuse me-
[And NOW it's off.]

[He has heard Bucky trying to use it don't think he's fooled!
And a pause]
Why don't you use your own?
no subject
The whole public address thing's more your line. I want to find someplace, I'll [get hopelessly lost] ask.
no subject
[Steve's guess: never.]
no subject
[No okay it's never.]
no subject
[Okay now he's flopping next to him. Like a big, heavy golden retriever.]
I hear we can see out into space if we go to the shuttle bay.
no subject
[And maybe now his mouth pinches into something that's trying not to be a smile. Did Steve ask if he knew? No.]
And the flight deck.
no subject
[He looks at him for a second]
Did you already go down there? Without me?
no subject
And maybe once we work out who we're supposed to be working for I'll look into that.
no subject
So far I've got a lot of names for Security, but no one's actually come forward as Tyke or Edgeworth. Looks like I'll have to go looking.

[But he shifts, uncomfortably, like maybe Bucky pointed something out that he wasn't particularly aware of.]
I kissed Peggy.
[Oh my god.]
no subject
You did?
[This time it's his face saying something else, or even just adding a word. You did what?]
no subject
[Now he's going to start falling apart around them, fantastic.]
Yes. I kissed Peggy. I mean, she kissed me too. We kissed.
[A PAUSE he is mucking this up-]
It was mutual.
no subject
You sly dog.
[And a beat, and then a smile - and one that's gotta be genuine because it's not too wide.]
Here I thought Hitler'd put a gun to his own temple before you'd get around to that.
no subject
[Nice. It was nice. He liked it. For the two second it lasted before he had to go and get on a plane to save America.
You know, by dying.]
Just before I came here.
no subject
We'll get back. You waited this long, right? [And then he's clapping Steve on the back, something he's only now able to do without knocking him across the room.] Hey, I'm proud of you, man.
no subject
I finally get why you used to get so worked up, at least.
[Because it's kind of dizzying.
But that also might have been the adrenaline from how he got on the plane.]
no subject
Not bad, right? One way to pass a rainy day in Brooklyn. [He lays back too, then, tipping his chin up.] Rainy day in space.
[Well he's going to have to do something, after all.]
no subject
[But he knows that girls who Bucky steps out with, they tend to stay friendly with him even after. He's not really sure how, except maybe Bucky's smile and charm.]
I don't think it rains up here, anyway.
