[unbalancer]

[ This is Bonnie's first post from her pod in Communications. After learning she found her mother, received help, and then lost her, she hasn't felt social. But, her job means she should be social. She's supposed to be talking to people. She's supposed to be friendly. She remembers when she was friendly. She remembers when her only problem was Caroline being disappointed in her cheerleading spirit. She also remembers when her grandmother was eccentric and not a witch.

She remembers when she wasn't a witch. When numbers didn't reoccur in her life, when she couldn't find birthday candles in a drawer she'd never opened.

She remembers when she wasn't living on a floating space station. Spaceship? She's still not well-versed in the difference.

But, alas, she faces her pod, sitting in her swiveling chair.

She had a question, something about how people deal with learning information from their future, but she doesn't ask for help. Nor does she need it. She knows how to cope. That's her life. Coping.

She's done talking about herself. Or, she's done feeling sorry about it.

Which is why she disappears. The screen switches off again. In truth, she's up from her chair and heading out of the communications area. It's an elevator away from stealing something from the bar, something that will go down with a good burn. But, she'd like to not be the girl who's always at the bar on the network. That isn't her. So, she swipes the bottle and a shot glass and heads back.

Again, she sticks her device inside the slot at her communications pod so about ten minutes later, she pops back up again. ]

Hey, TQ. [ Something she learned from Aidan. She pours a shot for herself. ] I'd like to play, how screwed up is your life. The rules are simple. Whoever's life is more screwed up - [ She looks at the screen. ] Drinks.

[ Not exactly a professional thing to do, but she's kind of done right now. Her best friends are both vampires. Two vampires she hates more than anything are on board. And one vampire her best friend loves killed her mother whom she still hasn't met. So, no, he will kill her mother. So, here she is. ]

I do have to warn you. I'll win every time. [ Unless Elena answers. She doesn't even bother locking this from Klaus or anyone. Anybody who wants to chime in, chastise, judge her even? They are more than welcome.

She is not okay.

She lifts her shot glass. ] Any takers?

I think Elena does that for herself as much as she does for you -- like if you admit how bad things really are, there's no turning back. [He takes the glass from her, sipping at it.]

But then again Katherine would probably lie to -- just with her own agenda attached.

[unbalancer]

Would she? Here, she has no reason to. I think she thinks we're becoming friends. [ she shakes her head and then bursts into laughter at the absurdity ]

[lockwood]

She's Katherine, I thought she had always had a reason. [It's just always hard to discern what that reason is.]

She could just be trying to gain an ally because Klaus is here -- she hates him even more than I do.

[unbalancer]

She does. [ She's not sure what it is yet. ]

I think every one of us would hate someone hunting us for over five hundred years.

[lockwood]

Maybe someday I'll know [He brings his drink up to his lips, draining it.]

According to Elena he runs me out of town in the future.

[unbalancer]

Why? [ It's all she can ask. ]

[lockwood]

I don't know. Once Elena realized I didn't know she clammed up about it.

[unbalancer]

I was surprised she even told me about my mom. I thought she'd ask me to drop it, something. But, she explained. Damon killed her. To save her from Rebekah.

[lockwood]

It's not right. Don't get me wrong, I don't want anything bad to happen to Elena -- but that doesn't make another life expendable.

[He thinks briefly of Chris, the hybrid who was sacrificed so they could break the hunters curse. What he had told Caroline back then.

Yeah, we saved a friend by killing another friend.

In what world is this okay?]

[unbalancer]

I fight every day to keep Elena safe, to drive Klaus away once and for all... [ He's right and she couldn't be the one to say it. ] It's a terrible thought. Is it possible that saving Elena constantly is going to get us all killed one by one?

[lockwood]

It's possible. A lot seems to be sacrificed for it. [Tyler remembers his confrontation with Stefan. This is bigger than revenge for us. Because getting the cure to get Elena her human life back was more important than people's freedom. Their lives.]

[unbalancer]

Sometimes it feels like everything is sacrificed for her. [ she shakes her head. ] Don't tell her I said that. She's still my best friend. [ bonnie still loves her. ]

[lockwood]

Not a peep, I promise.

[unbalancer]

[He shrugs.] It's always better to drink with someone then drink alone.
