[ This isn't going to be sweet but it will be short, courtesy of your resident Prince Not-So Charming. ]

There are now three flets, which pass as treehouses, in the gardens. These are homes and if anyone is seen nearing them to gain access, they will be shot on sight. I assure you, an arrow is far more difficult to extract than a bullet. [ #EXPERIENCE, urgh. ] Additionally, you will find the Elven quotient aboard the ship is now officially in charge of garden-based security.

That means we need not apologise if your actions force us to maim you.

[ Can you hear someone sharpening a knife? Humming? Sounds a lot like Legolas in the background, right? Someone pissed off the Space Elves. ]

Thranduil is indisposed and has appointed myself in his stead. If you have any concerns which fail to be entirely moronic in nature, you may bring them to me.

[Alexis makes every attempt to appear gracious and inquisitive without looking completely flummoxed.]

I have a handful of questions to ask, if I may?

[She nods.] Thank you. My name is Alexis Castle and I have been on the ship for a few months now. I've met Thranduil. [She smiles, despite her attempt at formality.] I brought him food once. [She sobers.] But it wasn't in the gardens, so I'm not entirely sure where these flets are and I'm fairly certain there are a few other people with the same problem. No one wants violence in response to an honest mistake. What sort of warning will we have, if we approach without meaning to? [She keeps talking, without pausing long enough to let him speak.] In addition, if one is invited, what sort of process do we have to go through? Will the other elves tell the guards or is that incumbent on us, as the visitor?

Oh, and one more thing: as a garden-based security, what sort of rules do you enforce? Is there is a set of written rules somewhere that we can see? Is your jurisdiction throughout the gardens or just a certain distance from your homes?

I'm sorry to hear that. [Being shot, she means.] That must have been painful. I can understand your concerns, then. No one wants violence right on their doorstep. [Sad voice of experience here.]

I just don't want misunderstandings to make things difficult. [Aka, everybody's defensive and probably with some reason.]

Oh, God, no. I'm not saying you should let anyone trespass. That's just ridiculous and I would be right there with you if anyone did try. [Pause] Well, maybe not with an arrow. I'd be liable to just shoot myself somehow, but...

[She shrugs. (Formality is really hard for long periods of time, okay?)] Clarification helps. That way nobody's wondering if elves are about to drop down from the trees to shoot them for some unforeseen slight against the garden.

I figured that was the case but I needed to ask. I hope you understand.

I hope that this isn't the last I speak with you. Thank you for answering my questions.
