How exactly does one slay a Dark Lord? I've only ever killed the mortal kind, not one with a habit of choking people with a magical chain and ransacking their mind. If I had all the Council's resources at my back, it would still not be enough of an army to bring him down. It would have to be done during a Jump, when he was sleeping. Through the very pod to take off his head, and despite all of that he has supporters of whom we know exceedingly little, shadows in the sidelines.

If I thought I could kill him in direct combat, I would have already issued the challenge.
