I never thought I would say this, but even I can't drink myself into tolerating this place. Other than people being stupid and making stupid choices that might or might not affect us all in the long run, is there any sort of entertainment here other than the booze?

It's kind of hard not to think about it, you know. We can't all just worry about ourselves all the time. Some of us have actual feelings for the people we surround ourselves with.

[ that's the first elena has sounded actually condemning this whole conversation, annoyed at katherine's insistence that she not worry about her boyfriend and the woman who may as well be her mother. how is she supposed to not worry about them? they're her family, and they might be hurt, or just plain gone. ]

No, we're not in Mystic Falls. But that doesn't mean we can just ignore everything that happened there. I appreciate that you're trying now, but let's not pretend that you're doing it for any other reason than to weasel your way into our good graces. I warned you because I know what Klaus will do to you if he finds you, but don't mistake that for friendship.

You worry about him getting in your way. [ yeah, damon's always going to be a sore spot, katherine. she's seen you ruin him one too many times to ever believe that you actually care about him. ] It's not like I've got much else to waste my time and energy on. Worry about my family seems as good a way to spend the time as any.
