I never thought I would say this, but even I can't drink myself into tolerating this place. Other than people being stupid and making stupid choices that might or might not affect us all in the long run, is there any sort of entertainment here other than the booze?

The best I can do involves a lot less talking and a lot more biting, but this place is not that big.

[He says it like the answer to that should still be an automatic no. The real answer is still no- he had blood bags with him at the first jump and he's been caught between rationing them, and well- volunteers are nice] As far as I've heard, that's all they're stocked with.

[He doesn't mean killing specifically, because- well, there's a bunch of out and proud and it wasn't difficult to find them. But there's people here who are going to recognize their M.O. and even if they aren't sharing- the only person Stefan wants to have any leverage is predictably him.

Much as you feel nothing for me, I've never lied about how I feel about you. So yes, I do care, actually. You didn't seem to be completely alright last time we met.

[There's really no part of him that is ever going to believe that. That if he ever considers there's parts of Katherine capable of it- it will never be anything but twisted by her own self interest. Be nothing more than she wants to- and it's not the same as the genuine article. Everything has always been the means to an end, even Stefan]
