Good evening, Tranquility. I have two queries, unrelated.

With regards to the science department, I'd like to be directed towards any appointed leaders in this structure, as I have some general questions that might save me a bit of reading. Both in regards to whether I can be of assistance, and what has happened previously. I refer, of course, to the laboratories.

My second question pertains to the red-worded Smiley character. I think it wants this Charlotte person harmed, as opposed to simply found. As much as I too find her posting rather concerning, I'm moved to wonder what it could possibly gain from her being stopped. Or silenced.

I realise neither of those possess a single question mark. You'll have to humour me. You're welcome to use the picture/sound communications if that's easier.

Not yet. I'm in the process of taking the scenic route back. That thing really wants us in there doing its bidding.

It's an interesting note in the observation of links between science and magic, though, unnerving implications in this context aside.

Very - I believe/d spacial distortions to be largely psychological based on experience but in this event it lends credence to true quantum instability. obviously also an interference with the mechanics of your magic.
I don't suppose you saw much of Engineering before attempting return?

Clumsy interference with Apparation (our teleportation) can be felt by the wizard performing it, but I didn't notice anything. That kind of thing takes a lot of finesse or a lot of power. Either way, an innate understanding. Or bond.

I'm not sure what it's meant to look like normally. It seemed vast.

On a scale of one to very, how deliberate do you think your incident was? Or could it be a random event still allowing that much power?

Given present circumstances which include an entity of unknown power directing passengers to engineering, the current crisis happening there, and the fact that persons merely walking about have ended up at the entrance: very. I've done this plenty already onboard prior to now with no issue.

I'll try again eventually just to see what happens. One attempt seems flimsy evidence even though I suspect I know better.

I suppose that's obvious. but a lot of what happens on board gets talked about like fate or the weather rather than intelligent willpower. i tend to see it as a little bit of both but perhaps we ought discuss it when youre not in the midst of a catastrophic event.

You probably do. let me know what happens anyway.

There could still be an extent of randomness to it, but on a very small scale and only within other, already quite specific parameters. Specific parameters may be what's guiding much of this. I gather that either the powers-that-be are working within the confines of their own, able to do all of these great things to move people and warp reality but not save its own home, or they're working within them in terms of what they can and cannot do to screw with their ship full of lab rats.
