[Abbie is adjusting her device so that the feed shows up clearly and so she isn't being filmed in a stilted manner. That would be annoying!]

Alright. Seems a little late to be using this, but better now than never.

[She brushes some of her hair behind her ear and takes a deep breath before continuing.]

Hi. [She gives a small shrug and a wave.] I'm Lieutenant Abigail Mills and I'm from Sleepy Hollow, New York. Call me Abbie if you want. Right now though, I'm currently with the SEC that's been established aboard here. I may not have any crazy powers or special abilities, being human and all, but I'd like to think I'm more than dependable when it comes to security matters.

Formal introductions aside, I gotta ask about the things people are seeing in the mirrors and about the people who were dreaming in their pods. I'm hearing things about beasts and warped edges and frankly, I'm more than a little concerned.

[There's a pause before she hesitantly adds:]

I've been there before, believe me. And that was before I woke up and found myself in space. There has to be a purpose and meaning behind them.

[There is an incredulous look on her face.]

That's the first I've heard mention of it. As far as I'm concerned, Sleepy Hollow is a real place that I've been in for the majority of my life so far.

I must be thinking of something else, then. [ this is the guileless grin of Not a Total Liar, oh yeah. ] Neal Caffrey, by the way. With the FBI, if we're flashing our credentials.

[ 'with the fbi' more like 'ex-con on work release under the watchful eye of' ]

[There's a slight purse of her lips and a raise of the brows, but it looks like she'll let what he said slide. Besides, FBI is more or less relevant.]

That so?

[Abbie's tempted to mention she could have been in criminal profiling if it weren't for that pesky headless guy back home, but that would have been besides the point (even if she did exclude that last part]

Got a preferred name or am I gonna have to call you "Agent?"

Oh god no. And I'm a consultant— I don't really look like an agent, do I?

[ just fussing with his suit a little, as if to comfort it and say it's okay baby you're still not fbi payroll material.

not that he loves his suits too much or anything. ]

It's Neal. Neal Caffrey.

Neal it is.

Agent isn't really a look as it is something that should be earned. At least in my opinion.

And you go by... Lieutenant Mills?

[ he laughs at that, raising his hands briefly in mock-surrender. ]

No, I'd agree— and I haven't, but you do have to admit there's something of a Men Warehouse vibe to your average team of agents.

[bearwitness]

If you wanna call me that, sure. I'm not on my usual turf though, so Abbie's just fine with me.

[No comment about Men's Warehouse agents. They can't ALL be like that.]

Abbie it is— and please, just Neal for me.

[ they really all are, neal despairs. ]

I take it you're one of our newer arrivals?

I arrived the jump before last.

[Holds up her arm to display her number tattoo: 026 » 117]

Hell of a wake up call.

[ he rolls up his sleeve and holds up his own: 002 » 125, then carefully smooths the shirt back into place, fiddling with the button for a moment when the heat makes his fingers less dexterous than usual. ]

You eventually get used to it.

[She's giving a scrutinizing look at the first three digits and decides to ask]

How come yours says "002" and I'm "026?"

It marks your arrival jump. [ his grin is wry and more than a little not about being amused. ] I've been here a while.

[bearwitness]

That means... You've been here for over two years? No kidding?

[became]

Two years and just about a month— unfortunately, no jokes here. There are a handful of first wavers around still, too; our version of ground zero.

[Abbie runs a hand through her hair, sighing]

Dunno if I can afford two years...

Also unfortunately: we don't end up getting much of a say in that, either.

So I gathered.

Has this ship landed anywhere before by any chance? Like an actual planet?

We've hit two stations, but never any actual land.

[bearwitness]

And that's cause there's no one to actually land this damn thing right?

Well— one of the reasons. As far as we know, there's no one flying it in the first place.

[bearwitness]

Doesn't that scare you? It's been two years and you haven't found out much it seems.

[became]

To be a little on the melodramatic side, that's one of the few things I don't worry much about.
