While I sure do love having my precious moments spread around the ship like an episode of Dawson's Creek, I can't help but think most of you aren't making the best of this - admittedly awful - situation. Sure, it sucks, but it has its perks.
Which is to say: nyah, nyah, guess which one of us got to fly the Millennium Falcon?
[ Also Chewbacca is dead, but he's not letting it harsh his vibe. Here's to fulfilling boyhood dreams. ]

When my dad shoots you, you brought it on yourself.

I'm already on his hit list, to tell you the truth. I've been pretending it's no big deal, but you're right. He's going to kill me.
[ And for just a day Han Solo was his dad. Frigging A! ]
video
Nah, he won't kill you. He might maim you a little but there's at least a seventy percent chance he'll let you live. [A pause then, only partially teasingly.] Unless you start bad-mouthing the Falcon. Then you're a goner because if he doesn't get to you, I will.
video
It helps that you're a damn good pilot.
video
Yeah, I am pretty good, huh? I'd say it's a gift but [a beat] actually, no, that's it. It's a gift. [Jaina having an ego? Never.
After a second, she does grow a touch somber.]
Just, you know, be careful what you talk about with some people on board. [Like her parents. Talk to your friends about things all you want but her parents are practically infants and don't need to know stuff yet.]
video
In your blood, that's all.
[ The switch between humorous and serious is literally impossible to notice, because Casey tends to maintain a general balance of both. Life is better that way. ]
You uh--want to fill me in on exactly the sort of things you'd rather keep to yourself? [ Because he's seen things, and if she means not telling Han that he's her father then... Well, he would have to get right on not doing that. ]
video
Just the fate of folks by my time, outcomes of situations that didn't go in our favor. That kind of thing. [She's trying not to let her sudden thought of Chewie, and Anakin, and the others they've lost over the years, weigh her down. It's still pretty obvious there's a waver to her tone, but she pushes it away quickly enough and flashes him a smirk.]
Other than that, have at it. I'm glad somebody's getting some enjoyment from it all.
video
[ He's with her there, at least, because having those memories, feeling them, seeing Han's reaction--he empathises with her. That's what this is all about, after all. It's a sad, sad thing, the loss of a family member.
Still, at least she didn't have to watch Attack of the Clones. Unless she did. In which case...
Oh no, the horror. What if she did?
He squints. ]
You didn't go to the movies in any of my memories, did you?
video
Didn't know that's what it was called but, yeah, I did.
[She pauses as she tries to figure out the best way to handle this. Clearly she can't just pretend there isn't some weird documentary holo in another reality that's all about her family. Such much for that tactic. This time she sighs before speaking again.]
I'm not going to like any explanation you're gonna have about all of that, am I?
video
So she's seen it. A New Hope, or just Star Wars as it was called at the time, had been released into cinemas just the year before Casey had gone to war. He'd been seventeen. Even so, the memory was one of his clearest, even after all these years. The queuing, the movie theater, the vast Star Destroyer pursuing the rebel ship.
He considers his reply for a second. He broke the Star Treks, but he could have cared less about that. Ever since Obi-Wan had arrived on board that first time, though, he'd only demonstrated how incredibly protective he was of them, to the point of attacking anyone who tried to ruin it for them. ]
Probably not, but more's to the point, what would it matter what the explanation was? You feel real, right? So there you go.
[ Casey squares his shoulders. ]
Look, maybe I can make up for the existential crisis thing? I work down in the Tranquility's shuttle bay. I could...show you around. [ Clumsy, Casey. Real clumsy. ]
