001: [ text | video ]

[ Not wanting to waste an opportunity, Kara quickly taps out a text, hoping to gain some form of communication with her ship. ]

starbuck calling galactica

[ Obviously she isn’t getting anything. So a few minutes later, the screen flickers on, and an obviously annoyed looking Kara Thrace is  seen looking into the device, before she finally asking: ]

Anyone know are coordinates? [ a beat ] Or what the frak is going on?

[ she leaves it at that of course, assuming people should know what she is looking for her. ]

There are quite a few who make their first introduction to the rest of us calling for their friends and allies. It is understandable, but surely if those of us who have been here for some time were to attempt to explain the situation upon awakening, then the confusion would at least be cut in half.

The truth is, we do not truly know what is fully going on. We were told that the original crew disappeared in a jump and that we arrived.

Now that is a hit and miss. There are some that are at least qualified for the crew positions available. Then there are others who have never known anything beyond their own star system.

Some have and others haven't.

[ he isn't kidding when he says it's a hit and miss.... ]

I do not believe that your observation are necessarily wrong either. Many here simply need to learn that the only way that we can help each other is to simply accept one another. Trust is imperative and, while giving it freely is undesired and understandably so, there is really little choice.

Now, Miss Starbuck, to answer your other question: I am from a planet called Alternia.

No, I cannot say that I have. Then again, if I am to believe the young ones, then we may not be from the same universe at all.

[ he pauses to think about the ones that have stepped forward. some he finds have experience. others just seem plain arrogant. ]

Not exactly, no. I believe the ones who have stepped forward have done so because they believe they are best suited to.
