So now that I've read the handy little welcome manual and have established that this place is entirely too creepy--

[ She looks at the screen and sighs. Traces of concern and what might be fear accompany her mostly unamused look. It's probably pretty obvious that she took the time to make herself look at least semi-presentable before contacting the network. Her hair looks generally tucked into place and her usual daily makeup has been applied. ]

Is there anybody here who knows me? [ She expects at least a few yeses. She's practically New York royalty in her world. ] My name is Charlotte Clarke. I want to know if my family's here. The Graysons. Or anybody else from my world, I guess.

[ She basically just doesn't want to be here alone. ]

Also, I need to speak to a doctor. Preferably one who knows what they're doing.

[ After a moment, Charlotte pulls back, hands still lingering at Emily's arms. She doesn't really want to let go. Not when Emily is the only familiar thing in this place. ]

This is so messed up.

Yeah, I know— it's definitely weird to think we're actually in space right now.

You know, I was one of those weird kids who never wanted to be an astronaut like everybody else.

[ She sighs and reluctantly releases Emily completely, stepping back so she could actually come inside. Standing in the doorway was just sort of awkward. ]

[the door soon closes and emily just steps further inside the room] Well I always thought it was overrated so I can't really say much.

[there is a slight smile before her expression shifts to concern. she may have stalked most of the other conversations charlotte was having but she just keeps that to herself because it's not something she knows outside of that] Are you doing okay though? You mentioned wanted to speak to a doctor, so I was wondering if something was wrong.

I just wanted to shop for a living. [ Which was what she proceeded to do for the next fifteen years of her life. ]

Oh. [ And automatically, because it's become a knee-jerk reaction by now, she wraps an arm loosely around her stomach. ] I needed to know if being kidnapped to space and jumping between universes would harm the baby.

[emily already knew what charlotte's response would be but at the confirmation of it, she still looked surprised] The baby? Charlotte— just humor me for a second, but the fact that you're pregnant is that something you mentioned to me before?

[ That look she's wearing? It's her unsure face. It's her 'Emily, are you sure you're not the one with a history of drug use?' face. But whatever, she'll humor her. ] Yes?

[from the look charlotte is giving her along with her response it confirms that charlotte was brought onto the tranquility from a later point in time even if emily doesn't exactly know when that is just yet. emily looks in thought for a moment, looking a bit concerned by the time difference between them] The last thing I remember was going to the Halloween Masquerade with Daniel— I'm not sure if the welcome guide mentioned it but this place is can take people from different points of time.

Seriously? That's the last thing you remember? [ A lot has happened since then. ]

Yeah it is. [and really if charlotte checks emily's hand, she will notice that she is not wearing a certain engagement ring either] I can only imagine a lot has happened though. How long has it been?

A few weeks. [ Maybe a month? She sits down on the edge of her bed and looks up at Emily. ] You have missed a lot.

[emily is quite for a moment before she nods] I guess that means I have a lot to catch up on if there is anything else you think I should know.

Nolan is here too— so it's just the three of us here. From what he last remembers though he's a few months behind me.

Nolan Ross? [ Not exactly who she was hoping for, but-- she's not complaining. ]

So it falls to me to fill you guys in. [ Great, because that's what she wanted to do. She looks thoughtful for a moment. She can just... skip over all those ugly parts that involve her stint with Regina. Those aren't important. ] You and Daniel decided to go to Paris to get married. You asked me to be your maid of honor. Daddy basically won the spot for Governor. There was an explosion at Grayson Global. Declan got hurt, but he's fine. Or he will be.

I think that's the gist of it.

[emily just nods in confirmation about nolan being here, well aware that charlotte isn't too familiar with him outside of declan and jack being friends of his.

she had to pause for a moment as she let the information charlotte just revealed to her sink in with the first bit of new making her a bit nauseous just from hearing but that hardly showed on her expression. her thoughts immediately went to aiden and jack as she considers the repercussions it will have on her relationship with both of them since they both won't be too happy with it but as much as it was eating away at her inwardly, it was all part of the plan making her that much closer to her true intentions.

emily looks confused at first but settles on smiling at that mention of her marriage plans with daniel] Daniel proposed to me again? I guess Paris makes sense since that was where he wanted us to get married before.

[now the part about the explosion at grayson global takes emily by surprise and it shows but from what she can tell it pretty much has the initiative written all over it. she isn't sure how they are connected just yet but it's not like charlotte would know that part of it either. her tone is laced with worry as she responds to the latter half of what charlotte summarized for her while taking a seat beside her] An explosion though, that's— Declan got caught up in it too? No wonder you said a lot happened but if he is going to be okay then that's a relief to know. [especially with amanda's death being only a few months ago which she knows that if something did happen to declan it would have big impact on both charlotte and jack from losing yet another person so she is genuinely relieved to hear that he makes it out okay]

[ She all but beams when Emily speaks of Daniel. She was excited about the wedding plans back at home. Still is, really, even if it's not possible right now. She loves her brother and she loves Emily and she loves fancy events. Like weddings. And Paris. ] Yeah! It was going to be incredible. Paris makes everything more incredible, doesn't it? [ She falls back on the bed, her hair fanning around her, and grins up at Emily.

It dims a little at the mention of Declan, but not completely. She doesn't think she can actually ever be upset when talking about Declan, even if she misses him. ] It was really touch and go for a while. But he'll be okay. We're going to raise the baby together.

[ A beat. ]

Assuming I'm actually still pregnant and nothing goes wrong and I manage to get off this stupid ship.

Yeah it does. It gives us both something to look forward to when we do go back, at least. [Emily smiles back, listening as Charlotte talks about Declan as her words refer both to her wedding and the fact Declan will be there with her to raise the baby. It was fairly obvious to her even without asking that Declan was the father and despite being surprised by Charlotte's pregnancy, Emily took it in stride while trying to be as supportive of this as she could]

I guess we'll find that out when you go to see a doctor. Were you able to find one?

That's true. I'm totally looking forward to it. [ She is, too. A wedding to focus on and a baby to focus on. Not to mention college to focus on. And if anybody thinks she can't juggle raising a kid and going to school at the same time, then they're wrong. She'll do it, just to prove she can. There won't be a moment of peace when they get home, but it'll be the nice kind of hectic. Hopefully. ]

Yeah. [ She pulls a small frown. ] I mean, I can't say anything about their competence. That's still in the air. But I found one. [ She glances up at Emily when she speaks again. ] Will you come with me?

Me too. It'll be something good to focus on and I know we can both do it. [her smile didn't waver for a second as she spoke rather confidently trying to reassure charlotte and to show that she believed in her.

emily never really had any experience dealing with the doctors in the medical department too much but it was something for her to look into especially with charlotte's situation as it was, so she just nods when charlotte asks her to come along] I'm glad you found one. Aside from whether or not they're competent though— of course I'll come with you.

[ Charlotte just beams back in response. She believes every word Emily speaks to her. There's a fairly slim chance that she'll ever not believe anything that the other girl tells her.

She looks relieved at Emily's nod. It's not that she thought that Emily would say no—she's just scared. She may or may not be pregnant, her baby may or may not be in danger thanks to crazy cross-universe kidnapping, she doesn't know what to do, and she really wants her mom. She can't even remember the last time she wanted her mom like this. And she is just so relieved that Emily is here to help her. She sends a small smile Emily's way. ] Thank you.

[emily could tell that much already and given the circumstances of this place she does understand] Don't even mention it. We'll practically be family soon, right? So whatever does happen I'll be there if you need me to be.

Right. [ She gives a small nod. ] We'll be sisters.

[ She's always wanted a sister. And she got one, with a seriously unexpected twist, and lost her before she ever really got to know her. Now she's getting another. ]

[the irony of that statement isn't lost on her and for all that emily claims she doesn't care those words words do affect her because despite everything she is actually fond of charlotte and as much as she wishes that she could tell her the truth, it just wasn't something she could do at this point.

emily smiles at that, nodding in response] Yeah, exactly. I'm guess you were you planning on heading to the Medbay later today?
