[Click. Oh, look. Some of you might recognize this face, even if it's on the wrong person. But never mind that Irene, Poppy has decided long ago that she's little more than an impostor.]

Right. Good evening, passengers. My name is Poppy Chadwick - I'm a reporter of sorts back home, and there's a question I'd like to ask you all so I can get a little more familiarized with the nature of our current... crew.

[The pause is deliberate, but not exactly suspenseful.]

Where I come from - I don't mean just London, I mean my world - there exist several humans who were born with super powers, most of which serve the community as superheroes. [Poppy is one of them! But she isn't going to spoil that for you yet. There's an issue called secret identity, and she's trying to figure out how she's going to work around that, if at all.] Is there such a thing where you come from? It's hard to imagine a world without them, but I've come across several kinds of people I wouldn't have imagined having in it, either, so. There we have it.

I work for the radio. Host my own show, actually. The news I feature on it isn't quite what you'd expect, I suppose. Hence the of sorts.

Anything from flying to super strength... most of anything you can imagine, really. But some are a lot more common than others.

Is it just Boston you're talking about, or... everywhere in general?

[growling]

Nice. Can I ask what you mean by not being what you'd expect, or is that pushing my luck?

[ and oh, those kinds of super powers. ]

And everywhere in general. My world's shockingly boring compared to what most people are used to here.

[ yeah right. ]

[briefly]

Oh, I doubt any world is shockingly boring. There's always something.

And my show focuses a bit on the side of gossip. Lighter news, if you will.

[Nothing to be ashamed of, really.]

I prefer my world without powers, it has to be said.

You do? [That's. Such a thought wouldn't really cross her mind.] Why is that?

It complicates everything. Life is already hard enough without adding powers to the mix.

Yes. It's a rather unique planet, but I'm responsible for the universe.

[ his first thought is that it's irene, takes him a moment to realize she's not. but of course, he's got his own double wandering around, so he doesn't ask if they're related. ]

Erm, yeah.

[ cillian's surprised, that much is obvious, though it's as much by the question as her face. ]

It's not something much talked about. We don't have any superheroes, not like in comic books. Mostly the government buys 'em out and puts 'em to work.

[briefly]

Ah! Do they? How does that work, exactly? If you don't mind my asking.

[deprecate]

To be sure. They've got a hotline you can call, reward people who turn in their kids or themselves or whatever. If you've got a power you get an allowance, get set up in a dorm with people like you — erm, or a house with your parents if you're too young to go away from them. Then they assign you work as needed. It's all on the level, yeah?

I'm afraid I've never seen anything of that sort in my experiences. Technology is the predominant way that people and other races set themselves apart from one another.

Well then, I think you'd have quite some fun discovering the super powers in my world.

What sort of things should I be looking out for?

It's been somewhat... implied that there are comic books about my life and my friend's in some worlds. So superheroes yes, but some of them have powers, others don't.

Only implied? Are they keeping it a secret?

[inebriety]

They were clearly a fan so they weren't doing a very good job of it.
