Hell yes, she was bored, but at this point, she was smart enough to not explore very far without supervision -- and supervision would make it all pointless anyway.

But hey, it's been a while since she's said anything on the network anyway -- odd, considering she felt more at ease on the network than dealing directly with people -- might as well have a little fun with it.]

Heheheh... so I've been here probably about a year? [Because with everyone apparently missing a jump, who knows how much time had really passed.] But I still never really get used to how peaceful this place is, compared to where I came from.

That got me thinking, though. In my world, nearly every soldier was named after an animal their superiors felt represented them. Like -- eheheh -- someone who was swift and efficient might be called "Eagle" or someone who eats a lot would be called "Pig". Or if you were a really useful, sometimes they'd add something you're famous for before your title. Like, uh, Sniper Wolf and Vulcan Raven were legendary soldiers, were I was from. And me? I somehow got two with Laughing Octopus and Laughing Beauty.

[Her shoulders raise up in a shrug.] Don't ask me why they thought the second name was necessary -- eeheehee -- I'm not really sure myself.

But, anyway! If you had to choose your own name, what do you think they'd choose for you?

[LB sometimes liked to think of names for other people she knew, but she might as well open the floor to everyone else; get to know more people in the process.]

Hullo. In my world, there's a spell that most people can cast and it creates a sort of silvery, animal shaped protector and the animal it shows usually has some connection to who you are as a person, so I suppose, most of us would've been named after that.

I'm afraid I'm not sure of what a "Borg" might be, heeheehee. But I'm assuming that there were nine different ranks? What was the seventh one, then?

The Borg are a collective of cybernetically enhanced drones, assimilated from thousands of species. I am Borg, however I was recently removed from the Collective.

[For the...very basic explanation that probably doesn't explain anything at all. She's good at those.]

There were nine drones in my subunit, I was the seventh. It is not necessarily an indicator of rank--the Borg do not have ranks as a military would, as there is no need for a command structure.

Um, I was raised in the army so they got to name us, but we mostly got named after plants? I mean, not -- "dandelion" or whatever directly, but everything related back to plants. So, nowhere near as cool as Vulcan Raven. I'm almost kinda jealous!

Well, it's not that cool... [Really, she felt kind of pretentious calling herself that, with was why she came to embrace LB more as something to go by, since it actually sounded like a name. But, she was also being humble here.]

Oh, um. I'm named after a sort of daisy. It's called a harujion in another language, right? And I'm surname Haru, given name Jion. It was all that sorta thing -- kinda convoluted, so nobody got a really stupid name like 'spinach' or 'thistle,' but they still kinda all counted as codenames.

Animals though, huh. Haha, did everyone get to be cool animals? Or did you like have some unlucky guy named Sloth or Slug or Sea Cucumber?

Huh. Y'know, I guess I hate to pick the obvious, but an eagle or somethin' like that would make sense. They're hunters, an' they're mostly solitary, an' I guess they can survive pretty much anywhere. Never seen one myself, but there's a lotta eagle mythology back home.
