[Smart phones this advanced are not something Mohinder is use to. Luckily, he's a child of the information and technology age and figuring out the more or less intuitive operating system of the device in his hand is not at all difficult. Thumbing along the touch screen, and bypassing the entertainment sections (films and books on a mobile? How remarkable!), Mohinder comes across what looks to be an electronic bulletin or message board. At least, that's the closest approximation he can make for the network. Perhaps it's similar to the listserv his University uses? Either way he has every intention to check into it later, after he leaves this post:]

My name is Mohinder Suresh. I seem to be unable to contact anyone I know using this device, as it it does not seem to be connected to a cellular network. This might sound ridiculous, but could someone tell me where I am?

[Mohinder is not known for making sound life decisions, but he'd rather think he is lost and this really is some sort of odd American hospital than going mad. He hits the send button and glances around again the hallway he's paused in.  Nothing looks like a hospital around here at all. 'Going mad,' unfortunately, seems to be what's happening after all.]

[ A world no longer in the dark, where everyone knows - Nathan is against it in every way, but he's not about to get into it. Mohinder's idealism in that respect doestn't matter, because they're far from home. ]

Forgive me, Mohinder, but a lot happens in your future. It's nothing you've done, and you know, I'm not planning to hold any of it against you. You haven't done any of it yet.

You were the man who delivered my brother's dead body--that's not far in your future, and yet it barely touches on the number of times we've met. Things change. You might know us as strangers, but you're an intelligent man; it must be obvious that we know each other better than that.

[It still makes him feel...uneasy? Sick to his stomach? Can he even trust Nathan? Especially after...]

I hurt Peter...?

[Be kind. He's intelligent, yes, a right genius. But smart? No.]

[ Tensely. ] Not that time. You saved him from Sylar. It just wasn't enough. Fortunately there's a lot of spring in our Peter.

[ Different kinds of smarts, that's all. ]

[Not that time. Mohinder doesn't want to know. The expression on his face is nothing short of horrified.]

Don't be. Look, I'm only telling you because I believe that this ship is our chance for redemption. I do things in my own future I'm not proud of, that I've gotten a damn bad rap for, but I have my time here to make up for it.

You too. You can do a lot of good here, with your area of knowledge. We have a genetics team, and while the lab isn't safe by any means... Well, you might be able to help us out with something.

[There are many, many questions that Mohinder should ask before he agrees to anything, and he knows this, but that doesn't stop him from nodding.]

I'll help however I can.

[ Pause. ]

So I'm guessing there's some things you might wanna hear from me?

Sorry about taking so long. I should be back now.

['Some things' probably doesn't cut it, Nathan. Mohinder is still trying to get his mind around all of this. It's hard to continue to be skeptical when reality is breathing in your face.]

I've already heard about what this place is. Time travel is possible, I'm sure of that now at least. But there must be a reason we're all here. Collected, it seems. Why me now? Why not me from when we knew each other?

... I already know that you've not the answer. But that's where my mind is.

Well, to tell the truth, I've started thinking that anyone else I know that's brought here is only here cause the universe is trying to test me. Blunt, I know, but you know - the timing, the people, it can make everything a real mess.

Sounds self involved, I guess, but if you'd been here as long as I have, you'd feel like everything is hiding some sort of a conspiracy.

[Excuse the small tilt of the curly head. It's not that he's confused, it's just that he's weighing his options here and none of them are coming out in any particularly good way.]

I suppose I might have trust issues if what you remember me as is true.

[He's not been torn apart just yet by the world. It's started, yes, but his great moral revenge against his father's killer and the liar that he took across the United States to start a new killing spree is still wrapped up in the false identity of Zane Taylor. The first cracks may never start this time. There will be no betrayal.]

Though I'm not sure how I'm meant to test you, Senator. I'd really just like to go home.

I'll be trying my best not to prejudge you by those standards. Honestly, the only thing I want is to get everyone home safely, which means we're on the same level. We all want to get home.

[ Things don't work out when Nathan and Suresh work toward the same goal, but Nathan is good at making the same mistakes, and who knows--this time they might actually manage not to destroy the world. ]

[Mohinder's not too sure how to get settled in, so he'll just smile and nod here. Americans seem to universally accept that gesture.]
