First Prayer | Video;
[When the feed clicks on, Natalie looks significantly more serious than anyone on the network has probably seen her. She's worried, and she conveys that by slipping into business mode.]
I'm hoping there's already someone here who's collected a security team for the new arrivals.
[Not necessarily formally tied to the actual ship's crew, but that's a risky thing to say out loud.]
If that's the case, I'm submitting my formal request to be added to the team. If a list of skills and qualifications becomes necessary, I can draft something up.

[If they'd been here over a month and a half without forming one, she'd have been concerned.]
no subject
Uh. I guess we'll be working together if I get in?
no subject
In that case, I'm Natalie.
video;
You don't technically need to submit a formal request this way. All you have to do is sign up. I could show you how, seeing as -- ah, I'm from the security team.
Video;
[Well, whatever works for them. As long as it is working for them.]
I'd appreciate that.
video;
[Rey, for one, didn't really feel like she had much of a choice.]
Okay, no problem.
...
My name is Rey, by the way.
Video;
[She pauses.]
Is there somewhere you'd like to meet?
[She really needs to start feeling like she's actually doing something.]
video;
[She nods.]
Passenger's Quarters. Right here.
[Let's say she pings Natalie an exact pinpoint of the Common Area Rey will be at.]
Quicktags okay or do you want a log?
whichever works for you. i'm fine either way :|b
Action!
Rey?
action!
Natalie.
[It feels like an echo in her throat.]
Hey.
[That's how conversations start, right? Just... Hey? How's it going?]
Perma-action
She'll cut straight to the point for the moment, since she's craving some sort of information. Still, she should be polite.]
I hope the day has been treating you well.
no subject
[She blinks at the remark.]
Like any other day.
[She rises from the comfort of the seat she'd been resting in.]
I already took the liberty to get your job request started. All you have to do is fill it out. Here...
[She flips open her comm device and generally points Natalie in the right direction.]
no subject
Thank you. I really do appreciate it.
[She pauses.]
I didn't have much of a mind to look around at the other new arrivals when I came to here. Were you present before this jump, or only afterward?
no subject
[Ariadne had tried to encourage Rey to actually talk to people, rather than just watching them and overall keeping a distance. It took some boundary-pushing to actually exceed her own limits. But she was getting there. Progress. Besides, Natalie didn't seem all too inconvenienced by it.]
I was here during the first wave. But I hadn't had much of a mind to look around all that much, either.
no subject
[She hesitated only a moment before motioning to the other woman's seat.]
You didn't have to get up on my account. I'd hate to invade on your leisure time too much.
no subject
[She stares at Natalie for a moment, a blank gaze chilling across her visage, before turning her attention to the chair -- then back to Natalie again.]
I wouldn't really call it leisure time. I spend most of my time alone, anyway.
no subject
[She knows what it's like to be alone here because you don't know anyone closely; Nigel is the closest thing she has to what her 'family' could be considered.
She slowly slips down into a chair not far from Rey's, crossing her legs and resting her hands on top her knees.]
no subject
Choice. Force of habit, I think.
[A moment later, she's sitting down again, almost mimicking Natalie's movements, and even going so far as to crossing her legs and folding her hands in the same manner. She doesn't even really think about it.]
no subject
[If she notices the mimicry she doesn't bring it up. Something about this girl is -- magnetic in some ways. She acts almost like the reborn Sixes do when they first wake up. It piques her interest.]
no subject
[So she can only really respond to the best of her ability:]
Yeah, for the most part.
no subject
[She doesn't want to be invading into her personal space if that's the case -- not when Rey has been nothing but helpful so far. But she's curious, painfully so.
She tilts her head to the side, speaking carefully.]
I've been finding it disheartening. I'm used to much bigger groups.
no subject
[She had a feeling that she probably didn't enjoy cities all that much.]
There are plenty of groups here.
