I've been wondering something for a while now. As an AI, I've had some trouble adjusting to behaving and emoting as a human, and though it has been quite some time, there are still some things that I don't understand.
Do you believe that you know what you are capable of? In any given scenario, are people meant to be aware of what they can do, or are willing to do? Or does it always come as a surprise?

And, of course, those expectations can change over time.

Are you really an AI?
Re: text;
Yes, I am. There are a very small number of AI aboard this ship; when we arrive on the Tranquility, we are put in human bodies through means we do not yet understand.

For having been in an organic shell for this long, I haven't quite grasped all of the smaller intricacies of human life.

I believe we all have perceived limits that can be overcome in times of exceptional strength, or that can be overestimated in times of exceptional duress. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to tell the difference between the two.

In most cases, I would say we're well aware of our limitations. But it isn't always so black and white. People are often surprised to learn what they're truly capable of doing.

I revel in it.
And it only comes as a surprise to those who are foolish enough to ignore the signs.

The idea that I could be emotionally or mentally stunted in some way due to the change of form, of course, has crossed my mind before.

Some people know themselves better than others, usually because they've had their limits tested more. In other words, your questions can't be answered because the knowing what you can do is not an innate, streamlined thing. Like most aspects of sentience, it varies between individuals.
