Working on a cheat sheet of information for anyone too lazy to stalk other people's conversations. Two heads, etc. Feel free to pitch in, I'm sure a lot of you are better at stalking than I am.

Alexandrian - time period? Roughly 40 years prior to whenever now is.
Demologos - type of ship we're on, warship (w/Bram Stoker inspired modifications).
Ship name - Scylla (sp?).
Planets: Alexandria (wealthy), Hyperion (machines), Pasiphae (food), Sycorax, Ceres. Jiutian - possibly space station?

Crew names/count so far on the network (sp?? on all of these, but who cares):
Felix Laurens - Captain
Casey Kassandros aka Kasey with a K - Tech? laughs at our encryptions Probably not tech. Scared of water and girls. Not tech.
Hays/Hayes - Chatty Cathy. Mechanic? Probably looting tech.
Fields - Gun guy. Full of crap.
"Trixie" - ?? Name provided by Fields, accuracy suspect. Probably Juliana.
Noam - actually tech?

They already think we're amnesiac idiot thieves/squatters, so don't worry, there's no such thing as a stupid question. Or a reputation to uphold, pretty sure any efforts at negotiation were null out of the gate.

They can read everything, don't drop too much info on us if possible. If in doubt, try to meet with each other in person to discuss instead. In a perfect world this post is here to disseminate info on them, not us.

Disclaimer: They already know we're clueless as to our how/when/where/why (or really good at pretending to be clueless), so if you're going to yell at me for making that even more obvious, I'm only mildly sorry.

We like salvage missions, usually-- and I'm off Ceres. Guys like me either ship out and go keep the peace, farm, or hook up with a crew. I can't grow plants for shit and I got a low opinion of what they call law, so I picked three.

That's funny, you really look like a green thumb kind of guy. Why the low opinion of the law? They keep telling you to quit stealing things?

More like if you aren't a lifer on one of their favorites, they let you live and die in agony so long as their world keeps turning.

Sounds charming. I don't suppose they've got any more flagrantly nefarious plots going on that you've heard of - not that neglecting planets isn't nefarious enough, obviously.

Everybody's got a story about a cousin who knew a guy. You listen to that shit and you believe they kick puppies while screwing everybody's mom and teaching our kids to hate themselves.

Kicking puppies, nice. Not exactly the kind of rumor I was fishing for, but I'm getting the general theme.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I think you just landed on an entire ship full of guys with crazy eyes.

You know, I'm not even sure I would at this point, but that's probably because I am genuinely going crazy. But no, I don't blame you for thinking it.

[ there's a pause, because he's not sure how to communicate why everyone is so hostile without going into extra crazy details. ]

But I also don't blame the other passengers for not believing a word you guys are saying. We're used to things going really, really badly.

[ he half thinks he's an idiot for buying any of it, but frankly he's tired of expecting the worst. doesn't seem to prevent it from happening anyway. ]

I'm getting that idea. This one guy wants to cut off our hands. Back home, they just... kill people. That hand thing is pretty fucked up, I'm just making the point.

If it helps, the "cutting off hands" thing is very passe where we're from. Nine out of ten people wouldn't actually go for it.

Nine out of ten doesn't help my crew's hands if we run into that ten, Josh.
