That's right. So we want you out of combat. Look, I'm certain you're very proficient at shooting a gun, but we don't need trigger fingers right now: we need teams of people who are used to working together in defense of the ship and the people on it. We don't need manpower: we need organization.

Carolyn wants the shuttles protected, because they're our escape route if this ship, say, decides to fly itself into a star. You have your own schemes, fine. But your priorities aren't ours.

I'll shoot anyone who comes in looking to thieve from us, and since that's what they say they're gonna do, I'd prepare yourself for a firefight now. There's people less reasonable than me, and they're not going to listen to a jumped up suit like you. They're going hunting.

Maybe that'd be true if we signed up for this cruise, but not everyone here is a member of your fold. You were an upstart too, the way I remember it.

They warned us. I warned them. That's all it comes down to. I guess you could threaten the people who're breaking your precious discipline, but I don't reckon that'll win you any prizes. A little friendly fire, maybe.
