[ When the feed comes on, Jo's leaning over the counter of a bar. Wichita's bar, Space Babylon, if anyone recognizes it from that alone. ]

Just to send out a heads up, but I'm gonna take over management of the bar for a few weeks. Same hours, same everything, I'll just be your one and only.

[ Have a very proud, 'I suddenly have all the power' kind of smiles. ]

Name's Jo, if you're interested. And before you start asking, no. I don't know where Wichita is. She just told me to take over and I did. [ they have that kind of agreement. ]

Though if anyone's got some free time and would like to hang around and bounce, it would be much appreciated. As much as I wanna run this place entirely on my own...thanks, but no thanks. And yeah. That's it.

Why would you need someone to bounce?

[there's an undercurrent of irritation in Kirk's voice, but having heard neither hide nor tail of this, he's pretty pissed. Wichita taking off leaves his department down a man.

[ she had a pretty good sense that Wichita needed to deal with something, and her way of doing it just happened to be heading off somewhere. jo wasn't one to judge. ]

[she's going to be is what he wants to say, and though Kirk knows it might not be fair, knows that everyone up here needs their time, he also expects a level of professionalism.]

Did she tell you how long she'd be gone for?

[ have an unimpressed and maybe slightly protective look just because she has a problem with tones like that. ]

Just asked me to look over the place until she got back.

If they're bouncing then they're doing their job and I don't have to watch them.

Yeah. She said goodbye, I guess, but I didn't think she was doing more than...

[ just a jaunt across the ship, maybe? he doesn't know what he thought. he wonders if he could get one of the werewolves to track her down. ]

Someone has to run it. I helped her with it when she was here and with her temporarily gone I'll pick up the slack.

This chick is old enough to take care of herself and has been here long enough to know the risk.

I don't know why she left. Or for how long. All I know is that I'm holding down the fort for when she gets back.
