I loved the first person I met upon sight, with a love that was stronger that anything I expected to feel at such a time. A love of tales and songs and I carry its mark on my heart until this day.

Poets would kill for an opportunity to love so fiercely among stars. It would produce beautiful words for them to deliver to the world to show that love is not a selfish whim.

[ never that, not to Lucrezia Borgia who is still a romantic here. ]

I named her Lady Alayne the Sweet, for it described her best. She was gentle and sweet and beautiful enough to shame all the women in Rome. And she was clever and my closest of friends, I'd name her my sister but I never had much of a chance to tell her that before she was stolen away.

I imagine it w-would rather depend on the poet, Lucrezia. Some have little trouble loving w-wherever they may live, and some are more interested in money or ac-c-claim.

As for me, I did not love the first of my fellow passengers, though he w-was a kind man. But I do care a great deal f-for w-one I met shortly thereafter, and I shall always be grateful to have had that g-good fortune.

Or perhaps your poets would simply indulge themselves to death among the stars. An artist's temperament and free drink is a somewhat dangerous combination.

Perhaps they would try and create a new rhyme scheme for space and new words for new poems.

She has been my dearest friend, and I loved no friend like I loved her. But she is gone, signore. Gone to her realm, and is no longer here or I would introduce her to you.

[ Oh, Lucrezia. Funnily enough, he does remember. He remembers all too well. ]

I had never thought of it thus, but perhaps you are right. The first person I met was a man of my own world, but one I had not seen in a long time -- one who was not as dear to me then as he became here. He told me we meet again, in a future I had not yet walked. I found it strange, and I still do, but it made me want to live up to that future. Made me wish to become the heroic man he remembered me as. He is no longer here, and I miss him terribly, but I still strive to live up to his memory.

I have heard of my own future on this ship, from people who knew of me but not me.

[ so much is evident and it makes her smile, love among chaos. God shows them some mercy here. ]

She left, back to her own realm, and took a measure of my heart with her.

I was greeted by a young boy. He was very kind to me, though he's come and gone several times since and no longer recognizes my face.

But there was someone I loved dearly here once, and he too is here no longer. That seems to be the fate of those who stay here for such extended periods of time.

[ yes, that would make sense. She frowns with the weight of it, the thought of losing those she loves here. ]
