[ Benny shuts the lid of his small, personal cooler and manages to dangle that off a few fingers while holding what appears to be a wicked looking, makeshift axe... lashed together with some kind of cured skin, a massive bone of some unidentifiable origin and blades of what looks like obsidian, only of a dusty, almost metallic sheen. He's already put on his uniform, that being the first thing available to him that was clean. The navy blue cap of wool, however, he wears... and slips on his matching jacket to boot. It's... more black than he cares for, but that's what he gets for dressing before picking through all his belongings. Can you blame him? Who likes waking up in their skivvies in a tube with some kind of breathing apparatus jammed down your throat?

He's calmer than he was the moments after he woke up, not that anyone can tell that just moments earlier he'd had his mouth filled with razor-sharp fangs and was roaring for a girl no one likely even knew about here. He's had plenty of time in Purgatory to learn how to cool off, and the true meaning of 'cooler heads prevail'. That said, he raises a brow at the device, grasping it's use about as easily as he'd learned to use a cellphone... his Louisiana creole drawl betraying nothing of his alarm: ]

So, should I bother askin' what I'm in for? I figure I'm being charged with something, given the circumstances.

But believe it or not, this isn't actually a prison. Or if it is then there are an awful lot of people pretending to be innocent.

[there's a small amount of relief in his voice with those words. while he and benny may not have been particularly close, they still fought alongside one another. they faced down purgatory. and they both dealt with dean and his stubbornness.

Yeah, well. Most people don't have what you might call a spotless record.

You mean... like one of them UFO things? [ A pause, and his brows furrow. ] Naw, you're joking.

[ You don't get through Purgatory and dealing with the stubborn Winchester without forging something in the way of a bond, that's for sure. ]

You know, I should have figured you'd be around. Crazy always seems to follow you.

[ Although, despite the teasing, there is an awful lot of tension that seems to relax in his shoulders. He's relieved to see you, Cas, although you were the last one he'd ever thought to see again. He nods. ]

Yeah, Dean and me... we made it topside alright.

Wait, does this mean -- [ What, is this some new level of Purgatory? Did that hunter do him in and now he's back to square one? ]

That's what I mean, yes. Except it's - for people. I think. I haven't seen any aliens, at least.

[ Now there's a flicker of an amused smile tugging at the corner of Benny's mouth. ]

Man, I can't believe I've heard a more ridiculous story in my whole life.

I think I have. [he's read children's books to his own son, after all.] I've just never been a part of one before.

[ Now here's the kicker. Does he stick with Roy, or introduce himself as Benny? ]

[ So much for that debate because let's face it, they're dealing with more grave things than what he's calling himself these days. ]

Good. That's- [a relief to hear. dean and benny may have disappeared from purgatory, but he needed the confirmation that they'd actually gotten back to earth again.]

Dean is here, but he's from before. He won't know who you are.

[no, the idea of benny not knowing what's going on right now hasn't crossed his mind. he's not had to explain the situation to others for a long time.]

If we're to be charged, this is the first i've heard of it.

[ Which is to say that she has no reason to believe they're being charged with anything, obviously.. ] Given the circumstances, it appears to be a kidnapping, if we're to give it a name at all.

[ And there's an awkward pause, a moment when Benny isn't quite sure if he's supposed to feel quite this bad about the fact the angel never made it out with them. It was his choice... wasn't it? ]

What in the hell you mean he won't know who I am?

[ Naturally, Benny stops everything at the mention of Dean, because it's really the one thing they have in common outside Purgatory. Having a friendly face in a strange place is better than none, and if they got out of Purgatory, what's a UFO got on them? That can wait. This stuff about Dean can't. ]

Unforunately, it's not that simple. We might not be prisoners in the technical sense, but we are more or less trapped.

Sorry, I know it must be really tough. It actually is really tough, I mean - I left my family back home, but now my wife is up here with me and we don't know where our son is, I don't... I'm no wiser about our situation or what's gonna happen to us, but I can try to - you know. All I can do is try to help.

[and. He doesn't know why he just let all of that out.]

Guess it depends what you did. [ A grin. ] Or what you think you might be here for.

[I'll assume that Cas explained things before this.]

you might want to lock this down, clarence. dean gets nosy.

I'm innocent, thank you very much, and so it stands to reason that you are also innocent.

[She shrugs, studying her nails.]

So you can shove down that guilty conscience of yours.

Charged with shitty luck, if that's what you mean.

[ So maybe she might have seen Cas recognize you and then you both mention Dean, and Jo is a noisy creature at heart, so let's just. Fish a little. ]

I mean that's he's from before. The Dean that's here hasn't been to Purgatory. For him, the Leviathan are still locked away and Lucifer still walks the earth.

[it's both a blessing and a curse, to him at least. dean only knows what he or meg end up telling him, which means he's able to keep certain less savory details to himself. but now that benny's here, he knows there's one more detail that dean needs to learn about. and soon.]
