[ it's baby's first post! the feed turns on to show a young lady staring down at her communicator with a look that is both one of pure wonderment and confusion. she runs her finger down the screen only to startle a little. her eyes widen then squint as she reads the screen's display. her lips press together tightly for a moment before her teeth worry her bottom lip.

then she seems to realize something and she almost drops the device in her surprise.]

Oh! Um-- Hello? Is it-- Do I speak now? [ she looks up before she looks down and gives another sheepish smile.] Hello. I'm Guinevere. But I go by Gwen. I apologize, I am still learning how to use this... communicator? [ she says it as though she's not sure that's what it's called. after moment, she pauses, her expression awkward suddenly when she realizes that she needs to ask a question, perhaps a worrisome one.

so she just looks sympathetic, a tight lipped, 'sorry-for-any-inconvenience' sort of expression. ] I wanted to ask... what manner of creatures have been attacking? [ as in what did do they look like and how can she avoid them? ]

You've never seen a horse?

Only when it was going into the showers--or not going into the showers, really, let's be honest. I'm from a city, miss, we haven't got things like horses.

[or if they do, they're overlarge. or really tiny. or half horse, half man. or unicorns. no regular Muggle horses!]

So long as Arthur doesn't mind. [ oops she forgot the prince part but still...]

Yeah, but it's standing around in the gardens. Anyone could go and have a look at it, it's not as if he has it behind a velvet rope or locked door or anything. And it's just looking. [and the chores bit, and the helping Merlin bit--but he doesn't add that; she could just forget about all of that!] If I leave my dog tied up somewhere, I don't charge fees for people to look at him. Are you sure it's something that needs permission?

If we're going to do something other than look at him, then yes, I'd think we should ask.

[well.]

Right. Then. I'll ask him.

Or we can go to the spacebar. [ so much less complicated! ]

[yyyyesssss score. he brightens immediately.]

Oh, yeah, we could do that. The spacebar is brilliant, if you've not been. And--I mean, I don't mind asking, of course, it's not as if I'd be opposed to asking. I would do it. [though hang on. a tad suspicious, now:] D'you think I wouldn't, because I would. I'd get written permission.

I'm sure I would. [ but she's not sure how arthur would feel about any of it. ] I thought perhaps it would be far simpler to go to the spacebar. I've spent lots of time around horses, a change would be nice.

So long as we're clear that I'm no coward. And that you owe me a visit to a horse sometime.

[but right! moving on!]

--so, spacebar it is. D'you know where it is?

I can hardly call you a coward. [ not after the boldness he's shown. ]

No, I haven't been.

Right, then I'll escort you. What floor, miss?

[ she tells him her floor ]

[making note of that, thanks, ooh she is so new]

Shall we say--in an hour?

That would be fine.

[SO IN AN HOUR there is a knock at the door. It's a polite knock, the sort of knock you'd expect from a person that would never bite you, whose destiny is entwined with yours, as you are also the sort of person that would never bite.

And here is Sirius Black, wearing a very nice and friendly smile; no smirks at all now.]

Well?

[ she peeks out the door to see who it is, letting it open wider when she recognizes the face of the man standing there. her smile is a pleasant and friendly (emphasis on the friendly, sirius black) one as well.

no smirks is a good thing.]

Well? That's an interesting greeting, I suppose.

Hang on, I wasn't finished!

[He presses one hand to his chest, right over his heart.]

Well, do you feel this connection, that's what I was going to ask. And then I got all breathless. Can't imagine why.

[ she resists the urge to roll her eyes before she gives him a tolerating smile. ] I suppose I must need more time.

Hm.

[He considers her, and considers that, and then nods.]

Possibly. Anyway, we haven't hit our thirty minutes yet. Once we're past thirty minutes, that'll make all the difference. So! The spacebar, are you ready!

And it's lovely to actually meet you, by the way-- [And he holds out his hand to her for a handshake.]

It's very good to meet you as well. [ she offers her hand before shaking his, although she half expected him to kiss hers with some sort of flourish.]

I'm ready where you are.

[but she was right to expect (suspect?) hand kissing. after all, he doesn't have a reputation for being smooth for no good reason! so it starts as a handshake, but then, just as a normal handshake would be released, he shifts his grip and twists her hand, gently, and there, now he's leaned in to press a kiss to the back of her hand, quickly.

he's all smiles when he steps back to offer his arm to her, gallantly.]

I was ready the minute we set the time, actually, but there's no sense in rushing things, right? After all, the spacebar isn't going anywhere, and you aren't going anywhere, and I'm not, either-- incidentally, what d'you like to drink?

[ of course, he kisses her hand, and she's not surprised. she lets out an amused breath, not letting her hand linger. arthur.

however, when he offers her his arm, she hesitates before taking it for as polite as he has been, despite his obvious charm, she does not know him very well and she does not want to give off any show of impropriety. however, she does take it a moment later, giving him another quiet smile.]

I'm afraid I do not frequent taverns so I haven't a clue what would be good to drink. I suppose some wine?
