Probably because people have had bad experiences. I probably would hate the AIs if we hadn't had Jocasta back home. As it is, I'm not going to trust them. I have every reason not to.

I apologize if I came off as though I expected anyone not to follow their emotions or instincts. That was not my intent. I'm simply trying to understand the reasoning for why AI like myself and some of the others aboard the ship have been met with hostility, even when we know nothing about the individual or their universe. Especially due to the fact that we do not have artificial bodies, and are confined as humans for the probable duration of this voyage.

But I do see now that experiences involving AI seem to be negative ones - I think I never understood just how many bad experiences there could be, given that the AI of my universe, including myself, were never hostile towards the humans who created us.
