[Despite all of the incredible and sometimes unbelievable things that Wanda’s seen and experienced in her life, nothing quite prepares her for her arrival on the Tranquility. It isn’t even the fact that she’s unexpectedly woken up on a spaceship that throws her off-balance (though it's quite unexpected), or even the fact that time and space and reality seem to work differently there (because really she's sort of used to that). It's that Pietro isn’t there during a decidedly difficult point in her life (after-life?) that impacts her the most. She can’t remember a time they've ever been parted in such a way, and the feeling is extremely unsettling.

Taking a deep breath, she sets her communication device to broadcast her message in video. She's dressed in her Ultimates uniform, though only the top of the red leather shows on screen. By all appearances seems to be in her early to mid-twenties, with an unusual amount of confident and poise evident in her body language.]

Good evening, my name is Wanda Maximoff and I'm another of the recent arrivals.

[Of course, it's not her real last name, but both she and Pietro adopted it after breaking ties with their father, and it was far easier to go through life not reminding people that they were the children of the infamous Magneto.]

I'm looking for any information regarding my brother, Pietro. It seems that he did not arrive with me, but considering the nature of where we are and shifting realities, any news as to whether he was here in the past would be appreciated.

[She shouldn't really need to add that if he arrives in the future she'd also like to know, right? Surely everyone here has some common sense regarding such matters. From all of the FAQ's she's read recently, they seem more on top of matters than she might have expected of most people. Wanda pauses, and after a moment continues.]

Also, has anyone managed to determine how many different dimensions and points in time we represent on board? Which worlds are similar and which ones are clearly separate, for instance?

[She's curious, not just because of her own dealings with altering reality, but because she's hoping that someone will be able to give her a basic idea of who she's dealing with on board and perhaps even which ones are from worlds similar to her own. Mentioning mutants or any groups by name would draw attention she's not sure she wants yet. Not until she knows who's listening on the other end.]

I was on an island before coming here.

[Wanda pauses a moment, considering him closely.]

What made the island worse?

[Don't say dinosaurs, don't say dinosaurs and/or mutant terrorists...]

[THANKFULLY, NONE OF THOSE THINGS.]

The inability to leave, mostly, among a complete lack of amenities. [Well... for the last several months anyway. Thanks for making him blow up the hatch, because you were dumb, Locke.] The locals were less than charming at some points, as well.

Whereas here you're in the same situation but at least the amenities are present and available.

[He's moved up in dimensions, it seems, but only barely.]

I can see your point, considering.

Aye. [He's almost snickering.] Also the ship's actually moving towards something.

So they claim, but I haven't any proof of that one way or the other.

No windows, yeah?

I've heard some say that we are moving, but the thing I'm uncertain of is whether there's a single destination or if we're simply going aimlessly or in circles.

Between you and me, I choose to believe we've got a destination in mind.

So you're an optimist then, are you?

Oh, I'm terribly cynical in my best moments. [He grins. And, all joking aside, adds:] I just find the alternative unbearable.

[She pauses a beat before inclining her head, somewhat more somber.]

Then I suppose yes, we must be heading somewhere, though god knows where that is.

I guess we'll find out, sistah. In the meantime, all we can do is enjoy the ride.

I suppose you're right.

[Working to get others home might happen, and until that day she has only her time here to enjoy.]

What will you do then?

I'm considering joining the security team. It's a wee bit much for a new arrival, but I was in the army, and it's somethin' to keep my mind off not being able to get back. Plus they might need the benefit of my experience.

[In dealing with creepy horrors.]

I can't imagine a security team doing anything but benefiting from the experience of those on board. A member approached me just moments ago about it, though I've arranged to speak with him later. Have you spoken with anyone from the team yourself?

To be honest, I believe I may have assaulted one.

[Yes, Desmond. Sound more casual about that.] Waking up in a strange place has that effect on me.

[She almost grins. Almost. It's a near thing. Okay no she smiles a bit and it's obvious in her tone.]

Well that's certainly a way to make a first impression, though I can't fault your reaction. Is that why you were recruited then?

Not quite. I just asked him about it later when he brought it up. Luckily, he wasn't the sort to hold a grudge, yeah?

Yes, it would seem so.

[She pauses a beat.]

It would seem I have somewhere to be, Mister...I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name.

Desmond. Desmond Hume. Lovely to meet you, Wanda.

And you, Mister Hume. I look forward to speaking with you again at a later date.

[She inclines her head toward the screen with a smile.]
