[Despite all of the incredible and sometimes unbelievable things that Wanda’s seen and experienced in her life, nothing quite prepares her for her arrival on the Tranquility. It isn’t even the fact that she’s unexpectedly woken up on a spaceship that throws her off-balance (though it's quite unexpected), or even the fact that time and space and reality seem to work differently there (because really she's sort of used to that). It's that Pietro isn’t there during a decidedly difficult point in her life (after-life?) that impacts her the most. She can’t remember a time they've ever been parted in such a way, and the feeling is extremely unsettling.

Taking a deep breath, she sets her communication device to broadcast her message in video. She's dressed in her Ultimates uniform, though only the top of the red leather shows on screen. By all appearances seems to be in her early to mid-twenties, with an unusual amount of confident and poise evident in her body language.]

Good evening, my name is Wanda Maximoff and I'm another of the recent arrivals.

[Of course, it's not her real last name, but both she and Pietro adopted it after breaking ties with their father, and it was far easier to go through life not reminding people that they were the children of the infamous Magneto.]

I'm looking for any information regarding my brother, Pietro. It seems that he did not arrive with me, but considering the nature of where we are and shifting realities, any news as to whether he was here in the past would be appreciated.

[She shouldn't really need to add that if he arrives in the future she'd also like to know, right? Surely everyone here has some common sense regarding such matters. From all of the FAQ's she's read recently, they seem more on top of matters than she might have expected of most people. Wanda pauses, and after a moment continues.]

Also, has anyone managed to determine how many different dimensions and points in time we represent on board? Which worlds are similar and which ones are clearly separate, for instance?

[She's curious, not just because of her own dealings with altering reality, but because she's hoping that someone will be able to give her a basic idea of who she's dealing with on board and perhaps even which ones are from worlds similar to her own. Mentioning mutants or any groups by name would draw attention she's not sure she wants yet. Not until she knows who's listening on the other end.]

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

As far as I've noticed, there are small groups of people from the same world, but it's not too common. People come and go too often to really get a good hold on just how common it is, though. And I think there are way, way too many to begin comparing them all, too. Plus, like for me, I've had people I know from my world come here, but from a different point in time than I was from. More memories, fewer. I'm not sure if it'd even be possible to keep track unless someone was constantly revising the information it after every jump.

When I first got here, I used to think there had to be some common connection between us all, explaining why we were brought here, but there isn't really any common link. Not an obvious one, at least.

-- Not to just come in here and tear apart your question, which is exactly what it sounds like I'm doing, wow. I'm sorry. [ SHEEPISH?! ] I'm Raven, and I've been here for... way too long now. Guess it's just been a while since I thought about that.

[You'll have to forgive her, Raven, but she knows a woman with your exact coloring back home. Granted, Wanda and Mystique didn't really talk much, the other mutant spent a great deal of her time with her father and Xavier, but they knew each other.

There's no mistaking that this is a much younger version, one who goes by her given name rather than her mutant name.]

Raven? [There's something to her tone that implies that isn't the name she was expecting. A moment's pause, and she continues.] Tear away. I asked the question to be answered, after all, and it's better that I have first-hand information than none at all.

[ she makes a face for a second that probably reads "is that.. bad?" but she won't question it. ..okay yes she will. ]

Raven Darkholme, yes. Is that-? I mean. Nevermind. [ because she can't seriously ask someone she's never met if Raven is a weird name or something. SO MOVING ON. ] It's probably much more complex than the way I think about it, but I've just seen so many people come and go, and some returning with different memories, or no recollection of being on the ship at all... So if there is some kind of connection, it's pretty obscure. And I don't think any one of us is from the same dimension that this ship is actually from, besides the two members from the original crew that are still on board.

It likely is more complicated than any of us can fathom [even her] but we seem to be on the same page. It seems with so many people it would be an immense task to try and make some sense of it, but I can't help but be wary. Such things in the past have never boded well.

[As for the the first part, well, Wanda can't help but study Raven's face just a bit more obviously.]

And you'll have to forgive me. When I saw your face, that wasn't the name I was expecting to hear.

Has this sort of thing happened to you before? You're not the only one. I've had two people from my world show up here only after they were brought somewhere else first. It's crazy, but not all that uncommon here.

[ the end of that sentence kind of trails though, because, wait- what? ]

You know someone that looks like me? Like- really looks like me? [ blue skin, yellow eyes. her markings... ] What, um. What name were you expecting? Is it someone-? Maybe we're related. [ what is she rambling about ] I've never- I mean, I didn't think- [ HUFF HUFF BREATHE NOW, RAVEN ] Sorry, I'm. Okay. What name were you expecting?

I'm not really at liberty to talk about the finer details.

[It was too much of a headache to explain the experiments of Reed Richards and how Nick Fury had basically been responsible for one of them going very, very wrong. The traveling between dimensions had been intentional that time.]

But yes, someone who really looks like you. At the time that I met her, however, she was calling herself Mystique, back when she was still dating Charles Xavier...

[Wanda had been young, and really she and Mystique hadn't spoken often but she'd known the other mutant, known her as part of her father's Brotherhood.]

What.

[ okay she probably should have just kept her mouth shut. because the way she says 'what' is something stuck right in the middle of disbelief and dread. it's a weird combination. it's- what. ]

Y- ah. Aha.

[ of course she's on video, like of course she is. she's literally unable to form words right now, and she's licking her lips and making all kinds of faces, like she needs to move her face to help her think. oh my god. ]

But I'm-

Mystique is my codename. It's. We all picked codenames. And mine is Mystique. [ this is very important, clearly ] But Char- ah. [ how is this so embarrassing, oh my god!! ] Charles and I were never- It was never like that, between us. I grew up with him, though. Up until- um, here, like before I got here, he was all I ever had. But we weren't dating, no, it wasn't like that. Ever.

[Well then. It seems younger Xavier and Mystique have a different sort of relationship. Very different if they grew up together.

As she can tell she's flustered Raven, Wanda just...nods and waves a hand dismissively.]

It would appear you're not just a younger version of Mystique but from a reality different from my own, then. For certain. Differences are to be expected in that case...

Right! Yes. I... can't imagine we're from the same world, that would be- Well, it doesn't make sense.

[ not after the last time she went home, what happened in Cuba.. ]

Did you know her well? And Charles?

[Wanda nods in agreement, no, they're not from the same world, but her movements pause at Raven's question.

After a moment, Wanda simply shrugs.]

No, I didn't. I more acquainted with Charles but over the last few years we've spoken rarely. Not at all during the last.

[The twins' relationship with Charles is complicated at best.]

At least I don't have to worry about meeting any expectations, then.

[It's odd to see this younger, sweeter version of Mystique. One so friendly, so...perky. Her lips curve up a bit at the corners and she tilts her head somewhat to the side.]
