[Timed an hour or so after Resnik's announcement. Most people should be asleep still, Taylor hopes, but it'd only take a few people jumping the gun before they had a chaotic mess. They'd managed to avoid anything like that so far, they didn't need it happening at the resolution of this situation.]

Passenger decks are secure. Power has been restored + lockdown lifted. People are free to return to their rooms. Orderly + calm. Request assistance restoring O2 gardens to prior condition. Supplies need to be returned to original departments. Don't just leave your shit for agriculture to clear up. O2 gardens keep us all alive.

I'm not sitting around all fucking day playing reverse psychology. People don't want to be called stupid then shouldn't do stupid shit. Already said no confirmation. 1000s of mysterious masks appear in the middle of a lockdown. That's low fucking odds for innocent.

You wouldn't have to spent all day doing it. Technically. And what you think is stupid and what they think is stupid can be two totally different things. Besides, scientific curiosity, you won't know what something does until you test it.

Considering we're on a spaceship straight out of a horror movie, I'm pretty sure odds regarding anything are a little skewed to the well they may sound improbable but may actually be probable.

Don't give a shit what they think is stupid. + leave scientific curiosity to the fucking scientists. Spaceship straight out of a horror movie + you're thinking odds will be skewed to innocent.

Do you just not give a shit what anyone thinks or is it just what people find stupid that you don't care about?

I'm trying to be an optimist. Do you really want to deal with another stupid thing that might be a security risk even if we don't touch the masks?

Think I've been here long enough to know how stupidity + curiosity + optimism goes. Do you actually have any fucking point or are you just trying to piss me off?

And maybe all of them were just more stupid than any of the other things. Making generalities ends up making it so people want to go past them and prove that they're not like that.

My original point was trying to point out that even if we don't put on the masks there could be a security risk. And if you tell people not to do it, because it's stupid and if they do put it on and something bad happens like them wanting to murder everyone on this ship, there's another security risk. There's no need to give them the extra incentive of doing something bad or something they shouldn't because it could bite us in the butt.

And I say that as the person who's trying to look on the bright side. Which, for the record, you make a little hard. I get it, you're older and have experienced more but honestly.

The masks as they are have been checked. Display no potential threat. We can't remove any masks that don't belong to us. So your point is I should've said fuck all + waited to see if shit went to hell. That isn't my job. My job is to try to prevent shit going to hell + deal with it if it does. If some people want to ignore common fucking sense + play with these things anyway, me issuing a warning or not isn't going to make any fucking difference on them. You're wasting my time.

I was pointing out the flaws in what you've done. It's not that bad, but personally, I think you could have done better. If you're worried, have you tried to, I don't know, destroy yours? Perfectly good way to get rid of it. Could have just issued a destroy all the masks order and I imagine people would have listened.

If you're really trying to prevent shit. But that's fine, you do what you want. I'm not the head of security so what do I know.
