[ a rare video post. irene's wearing her tweed suit, hair twisted elegantly up on the top of her head. and she's smoking a pipe while she perches at the end of the bed. not her bed, because even though the camera's tight in on her face, the scraps of paper on the wall most certainly aren't something irene adler would indulge in.

I've been here for eight jump cycles. Quite a bit longer than I'd ever anticipated, but what can really be done?

[ and it isn't as if irene has anything to go back to, but she's hardly about to say that. ]

Suppose I manage the next four and make it an even twelve. I wonder what one does to celebrate aboard a...spaceship.

I couldn't imagine anything more worth celebration than one's abduction onto a spacecraft flying rapidly through the cosmos full of idiots, curs and psychopaths. If this is a step up from the norm for you, I couldn't possibly imagine the sort of fun you must have been having back home.

I fear I have to ask which pirate. I'd hate to deprive the wrong one of his alcohol, and regardless, I'd like to think I've a bit more refined taste than that.

I think a party would lighten the mood considerably, but there are those who'd say it is in poor taste.

Aren't parties universal? [ she has to wonder what other people celebrate with. splurging on new outfits isn't valid, so obviously they have to find other ways. ] Or if you're one of the less rowdy crowd, you can always declare a girl's night. Do something low key that's still fun and indulgent.
