[A gruff voices comes over the network, slighty distorted and muffled by something covering the face.]
If there's any types who know your way around a ship, we could use them down below to keep tabs on things, assuming the Science or Medical crew hasn't snatched you all up yet.
Should probably introduce myself - name's Isaac Clarke. I basically live down in the ship's Engineering department, and have been half working to try and understand everything here. We're making progress. Small progress, but progress. Could always use more hands for a ship this size, though.
As for everyone who was planning to be a part of my survival teachings, those'll happen sometime in the next few days. Everyone was a little... distracted, last month. [No, he refuses to elaborate on that.] I'll be showing how to jury-rig some standard space survival equipment and go over what I've learned dealing with... well, ships like this.
I'll also cobble stuff together for anyone who particularly needs anything high-tech. I make no promises, but I've got the experience.
Clarke out. [Annnd feed cut.]

[Thrice's voice is pleasant even if the tone sounds a little distracted.]
I'm, well, most of what I've done is theoretical and not quite as, as advanced as this ship must be, but I've a little skill and can't stand doing nothing.
audio;
What was the space tech like where you come from - standard old-school rocketry? It's good to have a handle on what I'll need to bring you up to speed on.
audio;
What I usually do is, ah, this place brought along my research, which is kind, I suppose. I work with applied computer science, with processing capability and speed. Quantum computing, if that helps?
It's not a skill to boast too much about, but I can solder like a wizard.

[The voice is uncertain. Groggy. Obviously from one of the new arrivals who haven't quite gotten used to life on the ship.]

As for Zero-G, you're right on the ball. Usually the best way to do this is finding a way to attach yourself to a surface, but jumping around can be a way to navigate, too.
[He doesn't seem too concerned with the fact he's talking to a rookie, he figured the more people know, the better.]

Are there seatbelts?
[audio]
Not so much, no. Gripping onto railings or being able to ground yourself with magnetic boots or the like is probably the way to go.

As for who built the ship...your guess is as good as mine with what they were thinking.
