[hmm. after much fiddling and a crash course on how to video, davos finally gets the screen working, although he'd had to prop it on a table because holding it with his hands is a little bit of a difficulty. off-screen, he clears his throat for a bit, and then he appears, a rather-rough looking (old) man whose face speaks of a general distrust of technology who has no other choice than to reacquaint himself with something unfamiliar, again.]
I've listened to conversations around, and it is in my knowledge that for some of the occupants of this ... ship [he actually feels uncomfortable having to say that], this isn't the first, or second time, that such an event has happened - where a man or a woman has been thrown out of their present circumstances and into this place as either a reprieve, or a curse.
If there can be an assurance made that time stops when a man is thrown into this place, far away from whatever land or world he hails from, I would be willing to listen to them. [a pause.] I'll have to ask to make your replies not in text. I don't expect anyone to comply to that request, but if you could be so kind, please do not.
That being said, there are others who are from the same land, and perhaps time, as I was. [a pause.] I am not one to ponder on the specific manipulations of time and space, I've no knowledge there. But if the name of Westeros means something personal to you, I humbly request a meeting. Not on behalf of any King, as all of us are poor on that respect - and perhaps so much the better, but that is yet to be seen. Only of myself.
[a much longer pause. he ain't a smuggler for nothing.] Information is never freely given unless one asks for reward, and even beggars in that respect don't rely on the kindness of others. I have none to offer in return, unless specific concerns regarding the state of Westeros as I left it are raised - that, I can answer, in exchange for answers as well. The value of both, of course, can be determined later.
That is all. Thank you for understanding.
[end feed.]
ooc; will be slow

I would ask to whom I speak, as it seems you know my name already.
audio;
Ren Faire's around. Couple'a cats from Westeros heeling it around on the ship, dig? Sure you can find 'em.
-permavid-
I've found some, thank you.
You are familiar with us, then?
peeeeeeeeeermaaudio
voice;
—Hey, so does the word Braavos mean anything to you, too?
-permavid-
( davos : video | isaac : audio )
I talked to a few people who were from that place, Westeros? And this one person who talked a bit like they did only they're from Braavos, so I thought maybe there was something to it.
Is it okay to ask?
voice;
-permavid-
I haven't had evidence of that kind, although if that certainly is true, then it worries me what else can our captors do other than erase memories.
[a beat;] You are familiar with the ship, then. Have you been here a while?
/switches to video too
And what about if one of us gets our arm lopped off here, does that get magically put back on when we go home? I'm gonna go with no, which only really leads to one possibility.
[ We're not real. ]
A few jumps now. Long enough, but not as long as others.
[voice]
-permavid- y u deny me a good view of your frills edgie
girl this face is a gift and u gotta earn it
excuse you
[a beat] But that should depend on one's experiences, doesn't it? Do you like it here, ser?
I need no excuse
I should say not. It is an altogether lawless place, after all; I cannot see having affection for any place like that.
no subject
And what does affection have to do with whatever is lawful, or not?

[a slight smile.] And yet I'd rather not be anywhere else.

If you don't mind me asking, who did you hear of it from?

this would be private but these things such HOW DO YOU DO FILTERS.
[ he will read for you since there is no Maester. :| ]
I would pay him no heed, my Lord.

Your Grace. [slightly mollified, though he's nicely composed. this is just something that davos has to roll with.] Until proven otherwise, they mean no harm. It's a legitimate question to ask.

He was disrespectful.
[ ...he made fun of his qwertyuiop typing and his inability to understand technology... ]

Sorry!

[ he does not appreciate such sarcasm in the least. ]
no subject
[clearly very concerned with what other people appreciate yep]
Or do you mean to say that you actually have got a sense of humour? Should I be apologising for that slight? This is difficult, this courtesy thing.

[ fools and fools. It changed little no matter which realm one was in.
no doubt renly or robert would be fond of a boy such as this. ]
text first and then merciful permavoice
[BUT LOOK he's not entirely heartless, so he switches over to voice straight after!]
Would save you loads of time if you learnt it. Not everyone is so very kind.
video;
[ which defeats the point of not attending on behalf of any King... ]
-permavid-
I would be willing to accompany you, your Grace. [and because shade is needed when necessary;] It seems to be a good way to scout allies as well, new and old.
-permavid-
I know not whether many of the Westerosi would make for suitable allies.
[ Given the abundance of traitors and TRAITORS. ]
video;
You would speak with me, Ser Davos?
-permavid-
A man has nothing to ask of someone cruelly taken from the world.
-permavid-
[Look who doesn't get it just yet.]
voice
[He already knows she is there, and of course she does not mean a meeting for herself. Yet, if what she has gathered is true, there is little need to meet with some.]
no subject
...You could've made that talk a lot shorter than y'did, y'know.
