[Count on another ren faire escapee to trigger an accidental video (or...perhaps not so accidental, although he's certainly ignoring the device at first) as he wrecks electrical mayhem in the holodeck. It's an impressive lightning storm, if you go in for that kind of thing, the figure in the center of it blindingly illuminated as electricity arcs and scorches in wide blazing bursts, the triggered sprinkler system doing nothing to quell it.

Eventually, it dies down, and the man in the middle of it with a rather ragged beard takes a swig from a bottle.]

You know, [he says, conversationally; this isn't an accident, then] I think we ought to vote on a name change for this Maker accursed ship. My darling friend Isabela hinted to me once--pirate captain, lovely woman, would rob you blind in a flash--I believe hinted to me that renaming a ship and properly anointing it with--ah, 'dancing' and alcohol could shift a curse. What with all the murder and mayhem and general poor attitudes I believe we're overdue!

I say we call her the good ship Meredith. But that's only after an old friend. Absolutely mad and murderous. I think it's fitting--oh, oh, or The Death Trap! Something spooky and doom inducing, at least. Who's with me?

[He fixes the camera with his most dazzling (soaked, drunk) smile.]

Garrett Hawke. And you are?

I...yes. I used to be a farmer, actually. I always kept a garden. I think security is quite well-staffed, and I--think I've tired of fighting, to be honest. I never had much of a taste for it in the first place.

Mister Hawke! It's a great pleasure to meet you, ah, despite the circumstances. [ have a deep, theatrical bow before he straightens up with a smile. ] Please call me Soysauce! Musician and gun for hire at your service, sir!

[ and then a small sympathetic noise at that last bit. ] Combat does get tiring from time to time, it's hard to deny. I lived on a farm when I was much younger, and working plants does do wonders in helping one relax -- hopefully the gardens will treat you well!

...you're awfully friendly, aren't you.

[Someone has to say it.]

[ pause. is this a trick question. ]

It's just--you don't even know me. Why are you being so kind?

[shoyu]

Mmm, well. That would be a little unfair, no? To have to know someone in order for them to be kind to you? It would be awfully difficult making new friends, if kindness had to be earned like that, I think.

[ a sheepish little laugh. ]

Although I suppose some may find it a bit discomforting. If that's the case, I do apologize, sir.

[championhawke]

No--no, not at all.

[Perhaps a little, but by the Maker, he won't discourage it. Other people might need it.]

Serrah Soysauce, you seem a blessing on this ship, actually.

[shoyu]

Ah, no, you flatter me, sir!

[ oh gosh, that's enough to make him blush proper, and despite what he's saying, soysauce can't properly hide how pleased he is by that. ]

It's hardly anything that grand, really -- just what any friendly person would do. But thank you for your kind words, Mister Hawke.
