[As the camera clicks on, those who know Remus will notice how tired he looks. Not simply as if he hasn't gotten a night's sleep, but truly exhausted-- as if he's been on a long journey, or suffered some great hardship. The circles beneath his eyes are too dark, and there's a long pink scar forming on his right cheek.
Still, he gives the camera a smile, albeit a tired and nervous one.]
Ah-- hello. I do hope this is working properly; I haven't precisely had much practice with cameras. But-- yes. My name is Remus Lupin, and, as most of you know, I've been technically on-board the Tranquility for some months now. However, I've no memory of this-- really, it's as if this is my first month. So please, if I knew you but you haven't heard from me in a while, it's nothing to do with you, I assure you.
[The smile fades now.]
Which brings me to my second point. I've, ah, heard it said that I was rather free with this information, so I suppose it's no longer a secret. But--
[He glances behind him uncertainly, as if seeking support from someone unseen, and then nods.]
Well. I'm a werewolf. No jokes, please, I assure you I've heard them all. And-- well, we're taking every safety precaution we know, Sirius and I, but-- just so you know. I'll post up what days I'm dangerous, simply so no one stops by my room while I'm changed.
[He gives them a thin smile.]
And finally: a simple question. How many people, precisely, have duplicates or twins aboard the ship? Not biologically, I mean, but-- people who look like that, for no discernible reason at all.

To look and sound like them, nope. But to make it convincing, I do need to watch the person for a bit. How they walk, how the speak. The change is purely physical, like... wearing a costume. Need to know the person to play the part, you know?

That's still brilliant. We have potions that allow us to transform similarly at home, but they take months to make and they only last for a few hours-- but there are people like you at home, only they're exceedingly rare. Have you been able to do it your entire life, if you don't mind my asking?

Tell me more about these potions! How do you control what you look like? I mean is it... 'Oh, nutmeg for brown eyes and a little fleck of gold for blonde hair!' ..Not that you use nutmeg and gold. I dunno.

Nothing like that. Once the potion itself is made, you take a bit of the person you want to transform into-- so, say, their hair or their nails or what have you. You drink it and there you have it. Not pleasant, I'm afraid, but effective in a limited sort of way.

I wonder what would happen if you used a hair from my head. Is it.. genetics? Like since hair and nails have our genes or whatever. Wow! What if you could have my mutation for a few hours? You could cheat the potion and look like anyone. ..Or you would be blue all the time. Which is also pretty groovy. [grin]

Oh! That's. [ :X TRYING NOT TO GIGGLE ] I mean, age is just a number and all that. Trust me, it's even less of a- thing for me, I'm going to look like this until I'm in my fifties, apparently, so it's not like I could- but.

No, it's fine. There's thirteen years between us, or thereabouts. And I'm certain we'll be quite in love when-- when it comes to it, but it's still strange to think about.
Is that really true, though? Is your lifespan itself expanded, then?

But yeah, I guess? I'm not sure it's something that could be proved until I'm... actually in my fifties. I mean, my friend from home was studying my blood for a while, and he told me my cells regenerate faster or something, I don't really remember, but apparently that will keep me looking young for X amount of years. Kinda groovy, kinda freaky.
