corvo "FUBAR" attano

[ This could be done with more grandeur, probably. But, he's never been that kind, and given no one had said anything in lieu of him...

Life was too pointless, when those that left weren't marked in some way.
]

For those that knew him, Antillar Maximus, Tribune Auxiliaris, has left the ship.

That is all.

[ He's going to go drink, quietly and by himself, for as long as possible. ]

[ The comms device is on for a few moments, the picture bouncing around one of the rooms like a merry go round, before it finally it settles on a messy long-haired young man. His eyes squinting at the device for a few moments. Not in confusion, more in annoyance. The camera shifts again as he lowers the camera enough to rest on surface before he’s leaning forward.]

First of all. Fuck this place. And fuck whatever bought us here.

Because while wondering around in space sounds like a fun idea. It’s less appealing in practice.

[ His voice is slow and careful, there’s almost held back humour at the whole situation. Because of course this would fucking happen to him. There’s a lull in conversation there, as if he expects someone to answer him. With no answer he continues.]

Fine. Does anyone have a beer at least? Because this shit isn't exactly the easiest to swallow.

Out of curiosity, if someone were to have a certain...affliction. Does anyone have any idea what this fun little ship would do to it?

lieutenant hikaru sulu.
12 March 2014 @ 03:36 pm
[ sulu's camped out on one of the mattresses in the shuttle bay, wearing just his black starfleet issue undershirt, hair sticking up. he looks tired, but that's mostly default setting for sulu. ]

I think it might be late to welcome anyone aboard. By now I'm sure you've all gotten the general idea. This is the Tranquility, you're in space, and no, there's not a convenient exit. I've looked. [ sulu smiles, apologetic, then rubs an unsteady hand over his face, presses hard against his cheek. ] If you've any questions, I can do my best to answer them for you.

I'm Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu, formerly of the USS Enterprise. I work in the Shuttle Bay here, among other things. [ "other things" meaning two other departments, but who was counting. ] If you're looking for something to do with your time, we could use you in the Shuttle Bay. Talk to Carolyn Fry if you're interested in helping out down here. So long as you're not trying to steal the shuttles or break anything, you're welcome to come help out. Previous experience helps, but it's not essential. We can teach you what you need to know.

[ remember when sulu had a strict code of starfleet approved conduct? how the mighty have fallen. ]

If Shuttle Bay isn't for you, there's other departments that are in the same boat, could use some extra sets of hands. Believe me, sometimes it's better staying busy than hanging around up here waiting to go home.

[ he takes his hand away from his face, shrugs a shoulder, then cuts the feed. ]

CASSANDRA ANDERSON
12 March 2014 @ 09:30 pm
[ the device is resting on a table, a distance from anderson and jax — far enough that both of them are in the picture. anderson’s posture is, as usual, straight; a soldier at ease. jax is slouching, flicking his lighter open and closed. he has a cigarette behind his ear but he doesn’t reach for it. he clears his throat, expectant, nudges her with his elbow. ]

Gonna talk to the good people, Pollyanna?

[ if the video wasn’t already on, anderson would comment on the use of the nickname in what is, essentially, a public service announcement. as it is, she just raises an eyebrow at him before turning back towards the device. ] We realise that the last jump was unpleasant for many of us. Sickness aside, however, our position is no less vulnerable now than it was before.

We asked before, but for those of you who are new, or those who missed it last time: Gunnery is responsible for the defense of the ship — which, regardless of how you may feel about it, is your current place of residence — against attacks, as well as for the maintenance of the armory. We offer weapons training, and I offer self-defense lessons as well.

You get your sea legs under you, you come down, talk to either of us. Can usually find one or the other kicking around Gunnery at any hour, and we don’t mind visitiors if you aren’t acting like an idiot.

[ after a moment to let that sink in, anderson reaches out and turns the device off. ]

[ red is jax, black is anderson.

ps please have a look at [community profile] ataraxiongunnery if you're so inclined. pps theself-defense log is here, feel free to wander by
