He looks like he’s less than impressed with this being the second time he’s come out of a grav couch -tank of goddamn goo- feeling like he’s about to fall over his own mind with how clumsy it is.]

Fine, I wasn’t hot on bein’ splattered across the walls like a bad imitation of Slimer but... come on.

[He shakes his head and finally rubs a palm over his face. When he looks back at the feed it’s with renewed distance back in his eyes. There are new people around. New people with the potential of bringing new items on to Tranquility:]

Thanks. [Distracted at first, then focused when his eyes sharpen again. And then, unwittingly, his expression softens. Mouse reminds him of a kid brother. He hasn't mentioned Sam to a single soul yet, or what happened just before he got dragged on to the Tranquility.]

He's a good kid.

[ jenna notes that seriousness, and takes a moment to shuffle it into her mental image of dean before offering: ]

In a weird way, he reminds me of my nephew? They're... almost nothing alike, but maybe I just got too used to parenting. Like transference.

[ because that soft expression? it makes jenna reasonably sure dean's left someone behind, now. someone younger than him, most likely. ]

[Oh, Jenna. Dean isn't going to thank you for this. That soft expression cracks with the most fleeting picture of agony before it's hard again. Angry, almost.]
