Hi. I'm new here, and it seems to be the custom to introduce yourself. I'm Leoben.

I was wondering - does anyone have any religious texts they'd be willing to share? Or any works on prophecy, divination, or philosophy? Seems like my universe has some things in common with most of yours, but a lot that's different. I'd be glad to know more about other people's faiths, and to introduce them to mine.

I've got a complete copy of the Sacred Scrolls of the Twelve Colonies, and I can provide a digitized copy to anyone who's interested. [He says this as though it's normal, as though it's not blasphemous to set the Sacred Scrolls in print instead of keeping them handwritten, besides being abhorrent for scripture to be in the hands of a Cylon.] Our faiths are similar, but the Colonials look to many gods, while we look to one. It's a little complicated.

I'm very happy to have this opportunity to learn more about such a diverse group of people - human and non-humans of all kinds, their cultures and beliefs - and to spread God's word, in accordance with His holy will, among you all. [He seems to actually mean this, and to be downright thrilled to find himself captive on a creepy half-abandoned spaceship adrift in the stars.]

And Kara? I'd love to see you, whenever you've got the time.

Of course. But there is only one true God, Chase.

Our faith holds many similarities to that of the Colonials - the humans - as our history is intertwined with theirs. And there are many paths to wisdom, and God granted them some true prophets even while they served false gods. But we do not worship their Lords of Kobol, but the one infinite and almighty God, who exists beyond all names and mortal understanding.

I'd be very glad to lend you my copy of the Scrolls, though, and to answer any questions you have. And I'd love to read your holy book. Does it have a name?

Where ever she has placed the camera this time, it's too short and she's forcing herself even more forward than usually to keep her head within view. She's six feet, by the way, but he probably wouldn't notice that from just the video. ]

I've been very interested in learning more of this philosophy and prophecy theories.

Are you unfamiliar with prophecy and philosophy as general concepts? Or just the specific traditions I'm talking about?

It's easier to define what God isn't than what He is, because he is infinite and unfathomable, existing outside of time, space, and mortal understanding.

[ Kara wasn’t exactly the type that paid all too much attention to the network – opting to work as much as she could on the rebuilds of the ship. But the moment her name was mentioned, everything she was doing stopped, and she found herself staring at the face on the other end.

She remembered that man (or cylon) instantly – his face was burnt into her memories in a sense – and she would never forget the conversation that they had.

So without much hesitation on her part, she was flipping on her end of the feed, her brow furrowed in a almost annoyed curiosity, as she quickly said: ]

[ Her tone is sharp perhaps, but there is that flicker of uncertainty in her eyes that shows for a brief moment as she looks at him, wondering just what he was doing here and just what this all meant. ]

[He's been expecting this, but still his heart jumps, and his hands shake, hearing her voice again. He sits on his hands to keep them still, and leans forward towards his communicator, as though longing to climb through it to her.

When he returns her stare, his whole face is lit up, a little pale (though not so pale as he was during his interrogation) but happy. He looks at her as he'd look at an angel, a beloved child, his one true love: as if she's the greatest wonder of his universe. Because she is all of that to him, and more.]

I suppose it was only a matter of time. Honestly, I'm surprised there isn't more talk about the will of the gods around here. Isn't that where people turn in a crisis?

Some of them. Some grow bitter, or full of rage. Some cling to other things to give their life meaning: old laws and customs, or the search for power, or those loved ones they have remaining.

I wouldn't call this a crisis, though. More of an opportunity.
