[The feed is a bit shaky at first and it’s difficult to tell what is actually being shown. There’s some one sided muttering on one end, as if the owner of the device is speaking to himself and it continues for several moments. Finally though, there’s a heaving sigh followed by some grumbling before the video swings around to show an albino with startlingly red eyes.

He’s holding out the device with one hand, the other obscured from view. If he had use of his other hand, he probably would have been facepalming or rubbing his face because clearly the last thing he wants in life right now is to do this.]

...So, uh.

[A pause and then he speaks to someone off screen.]

Do I really have to do this? Who gives a shit if I do this anyway?

[From behind him, a small hand reaches forward to touch his cheek. There might be a bit of blonde hair visible further back, but the hand is forefront, as if to say yes, he really has to do this, according to the girl he’s piggybacking around the ship.]

[He sighs and gives her another look before turning to address the camera again.]

So...I guess this has to be said to everyone that I, uh may have had a run in with the other day. [The look on his face is one of extreme discomfort and he pauses again. He knows what he has to say, it’s all a matter of him not wanting to say it so he casts a glance back at the person on his back.]

[Nill pulls her hand back so she can rest her head on his shoulder. She lets the side of her head fall against his; it’s meant to be a comforting gesture. The blonde smiles almost apologetically at the camera, wings fluttering behind her before settling. She just felt bad that he’d been looking for her so hard and that others might have been hurt or upset by it. So this is sort of an apology from the both of them. And to anyone who has met her (any male, specifically), they’ll probably notice that she doesn’t seem scared of him at all.]

[The gesture seems to make him soften slightly and he stops fidgeting if only for a moment. Nill was honestly the only person who could even make him consider doing this and for anyone who had run into him before would be able to see the difference having her around made.]

Look. Whatever happened the other day. I guess, I’m trying to say - [He pauses again, wincing before,] sorry?

[Nill leans back and gives a little nod. Yes, he was sorry, and so was she. Besides the fact that she hadn’t seen any of her other friends since the jump, she hadn’t meant to inadvertently cause any trouble. She takes one hand from his shoulder so she can gently smooth his hair forward. She was happy that he’d agreed to an apology.]

[He sighs and rolls his eyes but there’s a slight quirk of his lips. After a minute the video feed is turned away from his face and there’s a bit more shaky footage before it finally ends.]

[again, her smile is apologetic. but she nods; yes, he was her friend, her best friend (savior, protector, all sorts of words she couldn't communicate). she was infinitely glad.]

[Okay, Alex, back down on the vitrol. So the guy you were replacing is here. No big fucking deal. You're used to it. He sighs, running a hand through his hair.]

[She had figured that three days without really talking to anyone she had made friends with was probably worrying. And even if they hadn't been worried at all, it was still comforting to be able to look at the network again. Three days spent catching up and fussing over one another (Heine didn't really fuss, just gruffly told her to stay in bed until she felt better) had made her start to worry, too. There was just far too much worrying going on now that Heine was with her. And now that he was, she had to start planning on how to introduce him to people she liked. Not the women, of course--Annie and Betty and Alayne would have to be last. But Bran and Dave and Alex, they could meet him.

She settles against his back once more, one hand still gently stroking his hair as she uses the other to point to the left towards the oxygen gardens.]

[Heine allows her to settle against his back and he adjusts his hold on her as her shifts the device back into his pocket. That was humiliating enough and he hoped that he wouldn't have to do that ever again because apologizing? Not really his cup of tea. Of course, when he had heard her bring up the suggestion he had tried his best to hold the grimace from his face but it had slipped through anyway in his body language and Nill had seen it.

It had taken some persistence on the girl's part, but he had done it in the end if only to put her mind at ease.

They had spent most of the three days in their room with Heine making sure that she was fine. He had only left to grab food for her (and reluctantly for him) but other than that he hadn't had much face to face contact with anyone else. That was fine with him though. He realized though that keeping her cooped up the entire time wouldn't help so he had relented and allowed this much. Obediently he moves towards the direction she had been pointing in, relying on her since she had been here longer than he had.]

[She'd known he wouldn't like it, of course. But they were in a relatively confined place now, with people they had to count on. If the trip to the Strela had been any indication, they would need to depend on others to help them as much as they both hated it (except for one another, they always had that). A first impression of shoving people around wasn't going to help them.

Once she sees the entrance to the gardens, she lets go of his shoulder and tries to wiggle a bit so he'd put her down. She could walk now, it wasn't such a big place that she couldn't. Besides, the days of staying inside had made her antsy, and as much as she enjoyed having Heine carry her, she wanted to stretch her limbs and move around.]

[He hasn't seen Nill since before the jump so it's a relief to see her again. He quirks an eyebrow at her new friend, noting his eye color is the same as his own.] Yo.

I take it you're Nill's friend. [He flexes his orange wings, and makes a small wave to the girl directly.] Things are cool now by the way, he woke up.

[Dave is slightly OFF but he's letting her know the important bit. He's aware and awake.]

[Heine gives the video a look and notes the wings. He's still feeling rather awkward about the entire situation and he probably wouldn't have answered or offered any information but since Nill is there he does so.]

We know each other from home.

[So that's a yes.]

[she waves back at him, and her face lights up. good, dave was awake! she had been so worried that he wouldn't, especially with the stress of the jump. if she hadn't been able to get up for a while afterwards, she couldn't imagine what it might have done to someone who'd been comatose.]

[ robb has A Lot On His Plate at this moment, but this is a relief. he'd been worried at the strange man who'd scooped nill up. ]

[robb she is less frightened of you than before, thank your sister. she smiles and gives a nod. yes, her best friend.]

[ Betty's in bed again, but it's not medical this time -- just her own room. ]

It looks like you've found someone from home, Nill. That's good. As for your friend -- hopefully people will accept his apology.

[this probably wasn't going to end well. nill hadn't really warned heine that some of the people looking after her were women. well at least betty wasn't with them; that would have been a disaster. but the blonde is glad to see her friend out of the medbay, even if she's still laid up.

she nods, to both the finding and the apology comments. maybe the latter hadn't been completely necessary, but it'd made her feel better.]

[He hadn't been expecting people to actually respond back but there's little he can do about it. Most of them wanted to talk to Nill anyway which suited him just fine. He would have much preferred to ignore everyone but Nill had simply looked at him and he had relented. Out of reflex he took out his device to respond only for his eyes to widen when he saw the woman on the other end. It slipped from his hands and he grabbed for it only to have it clatter to the ground.]

[frodo's a little busy because this guy was a total ass and he's friends with nill? he's immediately iffy. the hobbit stares into the screen warily. ]

[her expression softens just that much more and she nods, wings rustling behind her back. yes, she knew him, and she was vaguely aware that heine hadn't been exactly nice to frodo. then again, he wasn't really nice to anyone.]

[Heine is distracted by his thoughts when Frodo calls. He remembers you, Frodo. And after a moment he speaks.]

[("Is that her? She has wings, like he said! Hmm. . .") goes the initial thought process of the youthful looking teen with a mop of dark, reddish-blond hair on the display.

This girl seems to be what Mikelo heard of - the other mute person - so he'll go with his gut. Nothing wrong in that, right?

Cheerful, confident, he waves to them both, before typing.]

Hello! ☼ You, with the pretty hair and wings, are you the other mute on the ship?

[nill can read most of that (especially the "pretty" part), and her cheeks go just a little pink. she awkwardly points to herself. did he mean her?]

[He blinks a minute before recognizing the mute boy from the other day. Hey, kid. You're practically hitting on his Nill psuedo-sister. We swear this is his nice face.]
