Mystic Falls Filter. AKA NO KLAUS ALLOWED.
So, I don't think anyone other then Caroline really knows so far, but back during the last jump, I went back home for about a year.

Which means I'm a hybrid. Like Klaus. I was sired to him, but I recently broke that bond. But he doesn't know that here. As far as he knows, I'm still bonded to him, and I thought for now, it's in all of our best interest that he thinks so. It'll give us an inside ear to whatever he might be up to here.

And I figure that's something we all need right now.

My room. [Nowhere public, he doesn't know if Klaus has compelled anyone to keep open ears about things.]

I'll head there now. [ And without waiting for a response, Mason ends the feed.

Since Tyler's a 006 and Mason's a 003 - and he's been in his own room when Tyler contacted him - it takes a little longer than he'd like before he's knocking on Tyler's door. He's not the type that gets anxious or nervous, but there's definitely an uneasy edge to Mason's patience right now; he wants to know what Tyler's got to say and he wants to know now.

With Klaus on board - and with him having already threatened Jenna - Mason doesn't want to take any sort of risks. ]

[Tyler's already put this conversation off long enough. He realizes he should have contacted his uncle right after the jump, after he woke up here with another year from home under his belt. But it's been a lot of processing himself. But he's ready to talk now.

He's pacing the room before he finally hears the knock, opening the door right away. He waits until Mason's inside before he locks it back up.

Okay, so maybe he's being a little overly cautious, but he can't help it.

Now he just needs to figure out where to start.]

[ If Tyler practically jumping at the door at the sound of the knock wasn't enough to make Mason suspicious, the fact that he locks the door once Mason's inside definitely does it. And he's not going to put up with waiting, not with a reaction like that.

He knows Klaus is on board, knows he wants his precious hybrids, and if Tyler agreed--

His hands flex at his sides as he fights the urge to strangle his nephew and force it out of him. Because this has to be something big; Tyler wouldn't be acting this way, wouldn't have requested to talk in person, if it wasn't. And what else could it be? ] Spill.

[ so, he knows. which is good, it's a good thing, right? the more people that know everything that's happened, the better? but she isn't sure what to say at first, because it's- it's complicated. he broke the bond, he got that far, but does he know about Klaus being killed? that he didn't- he might've- ]

Guess that makes two of us with secrets we need to keep from Klaus.

Have you talked to him? Klaus. I've managed to avoid him for a while now, but I can't imagine that'd be easy for you.

I ran into him a bit ago. He knows I'm a hybrid now, but he doesn't know I'm a free one. I figure, it works in everyone's favor that he doesn't.

Or, you know, a good thing your skin. I don't think turning blue is the best way to clear your pores.

Yeah, that's what I kind of figured. I don't trust the ship itself, let alone anyplace it might take us.

[He switches the feed to private.]

I'm meeting up with Uncle Mason today to fill him in on some things.

[ she's quiet for a moment. just a moment. she imagines it can only be one thing, but between the memories tyler had prior to suddenly being in the know of what she knew, there was a lot to catch up on for someone who was important to tyler like mason was. ]

About the whole hybrid thing?

[ that's pretty important, right? god, she honestly doesn't have a life outside of hybrids, tigers, vampires, and doppelgangers anymore. ]

And Klaus is aware there's other werewolves. I can't let that happen to Mason.

[Not again. Sure, with Elena as a vampire, he can't make hybrids, but Klaus doesn't know that. Which means he could still try, and kill people in the process.

If you need any help, Tyler. When he came out about being a wolf, I warned him to not accept any deals. He's got a target on his head. [ she can't imagine klaus not going for it. he takes any opportunity he can get. ] You have to be careful.
