captain's log | 013 | video
[the video clip clicks on to a sideways angle of Kirk's face. he's holding the communicator up, but it's less to show what's going on and more so that he can speak into it. he's crouched down, though, and you can almost see what's going on.
he's facing a figure and from the sharp cut of his black hair you can tell it's Spock next to him with his head bowed forward, collapsed and kneeling with both of his hands on the wall. Jim's eyes are wide with worry and tension, half bent forward with one hand on the other man's back.]
——are two. Anger... More than... more than...
Come on, Spock, stay with me buddy——
I need medical assistance to the ninth floor hallway of the passenger decks, and I need it now!
[Jim's voice is authoritative and clipped, leaving no room for argument and making it clear this is a crisis situation. if he was going to say something else, he's completely derailed when Spock starts slumping to the left.]
Spock!
[Kirk drops his communicator next to his knee and scrambles forward, grabbing at the Vulcan's broad shoulders and moving so that he ends up half sprawled with his head in Jim's lap.]
Bones, I need you!
[his voice is raised at the communicator he can no longer reach; it isn't panic, but it's definite distress. honestly, he doesn't care which doctor gets here first, as long as someone hustles their ass up here.]
[ooc: Kirk & Spock c: anyone from the Enterprise can assume they knew that Spock was going to mind meld with the ship but nobody else will have known! also this is open to action.]

You're very interesting. Alias isn't sure how it feels other than it wanted to know more.
It might just make a trip up there to see what's going on, as someone else, but a set of eyes nonetheless. ]

video forever because his communicator is far away
He- [well, Watson probably knows this aspect of Vulcan culture, since he knows shit about them otherwise.] -attempted to meld with the ship, I don't know what the hell happened.

action; for mr. scott!
she knew what Spock was going to try to do, and with the way Kirk is reacting-
yeah, it's reason enough to run.
so she sprints for the lift, slams the button and waits, her heart pumping a million beats per second because if Spock's hurt, if the ship hurt him, it's- it's more than enough to make any amount of composure she's used to carrying vanish. just like that, a snap and it's all gone because she needs to be there, and composure won't help that endeavor at all. the doors open and one hand palms the wall after she presses the button that'll get her to nine, and she's not- she's not freaking out, that much is obvious because her expression is too hard and her posture is to straight, but she does check out for a moment, mind battling over emotions in a way that they haven't since the last time she was on the Enterprise.
she's shocked when the door opens so soon, eyes flicking over to the control panel, and she huffs when she sees she's still got a few floors to go, so why is the lift stopping, why would anyone on this whole ship need this very lift right now!? ]
action forever!
And when this appears on his comm... He already resents this ship, just a bit, for not being the Enterprise. And now? Now she's done something to Mister Spock. Beautiful piece of machinery though this ship may be, he'll damn well tear her apart bolt by bolt if he has to. If Kirk but says the word...
But that wouldn't be a good idea, not until they figure out a way to get home. But Mister Spock. Alright, so maybe he's not as close to the commander as some people, but damn it, he's the commander.
He makes it to the nearest lift. Waits impatiently for it to reach the deck he's on. By the time the door opens he's practically bouncing with impatience. And then he stops, just as he's about to barrel in.]

Only Spock was affected. [because that's what you're really asking- right?] We'll have a better idea of what's going on when the medical team gets here.

Our present understanding of the risks of Vulcan mind melds is significantly more advanced than your own, Captain. [ By which he means they have more rules and regulations stopping Vulcan officers from playing fast and loose with their own mental health. ] I will attend Doctor McCoy, with your permission.
Further mental stimulation should be avoided until the damage can be assessed, at least under uncontrolled circumstances; whatever incapacitated him may bleed through to others if unchecked.

[ The clipped message is all McCoy bothers with before he hits the halls at a run, medbag slamming against his hip as he goes. The fact that he can see how serious the situation is shows in how he doesn't even bother to bitch about idiots and Vulcans and goddamn stupid decisions.
He drops to the floor next to the two men hard enough that his knees are going to make their displeasure known later, tricorder in hand. He wants to lay a reassuring hand on Spock's shoulder, but he looks to Jim first for approval, because what they don't need now is a distressed Spock freaking out on them. ]

after all, despite what anyone else could say or do, Bones was the only one who really knew how to tell. nobody else on board was working with Vulcans, after all.]
