[A soft voice speaks that sounds very much like it belongs to a girl, but anyone who's heard Kurt speak before can probably recognize it. It's been a while since he's posted anything, but this has been on his mind since the outbreak.]

I don't talk to very many people here. It seems odd, doesn't it? We're all on this ship together and yet our interaction with one another is quite limited, at least in my experience. It seemed as though a terrible outbreak of illness is what it took for me to meet new people, and I-- I hardly think that's the best way to go about things.

[A slight pause.] I'm not sure where I'm going with this. I guess this is me asking if everyone is all right since the illness. Not just those I've spoken to-- Everyone. When I went hunting for the cure, I traveled with so many different people--most of them far more, ah, experienced with handling such situations than myself, but...that didn't seem to matter. We all worked together, for the most part, even when those--those terrible things attacked, and... [He clears his throat.]

Anyway, I'm not going to post a survey to fill out or anything, but I'd like to get to know some more of you. We're all in the same situation, aren't we? And I don't want to wait for another emergency to form allies in this place.

So-- How are you? Are you all right since the illness? What are your favorite ways to pass the time around here? It doesn't really matter to me where you're from or what your past was like. We're all here together now, so... I think it's better that we stop thinking about what makes us all different, right?

Not strictly speaking, no, but why not?

There are too man different factions. Even if this place was without all the weird stuff, everyone wouldn't get along. And some of us like being kept separate from others.

[Some of the assholes here aren't exactly people he's looking to find similarities with.]

I understand that. But I think it's important to form allies whenever possible. Not all of us have experience fighting, or strength, or big wolves that follow us around.

Besides, it's stupid to seclude yourself completely. Especially in a place like this.

Well, at least you know you need help.

[He doesn't mind helping those types--he just gets annoyed at people who always think they don't need anyone's help--and then he ends of having to save them, anyways.]

Yeah, but it doesn't mean we need to get all friendly, either.

I don't see why not. It's lonely here without friends, don't you think?

I suppose it would be.

[Meaning he has 'friends' here.

Sorry, Kurt. Alex isn't always the most talkative.]

[It doesn't seem to bother Kurt too much.]

[He still isn't sure if he should be keeping the difference going but it helps people keep him and the other Alex a part. If it does it's job, he'll do it.]

I'm Kurt. Not as fancy a name as yours, but it works.

[He snorts.]

But it's what I go by, here. Keeps things less complicated.

[He shrugs.]

It's more that the name fits, you know?
