[And there's an Agent K, or "Karl Thompson", posting publicly for the first time. He prefers keeping things low key and has spent much of his time thus far lurking. But he has a few questions.]

What are the current standing regulations regarding punishable behavior aboard this ship and what areas are considered restricted? [Not that he wouldn't want into them, but he also doesn't want to open a door to an airlock or set off a massive internal defense system without research.]

If whoever is in charge of ship defenses has room for a little help, I'm willing to lend a hand.

[Introductions? He's bad at those. He's just bad at getting to know people personally, in any case. He figures this will have to do for now. Especially since he's noticing people are getting sick, and he wants to keep the chit chat to a minimum in case of an emergency.]

[She refers him to the network copy of what more or less functions as a sign-up sheet.

Tali waves a three-fingered hand to the side, off-screen.]

Generally, if an area is 'restricted', you won't be able to take the transports to them anyway.

[Unseen on the other end of his communication device, he's tilting his head with interest at her hand. He generally likes aliens, and despite the gravity of the situation is enjoying seeing them interact with people.]

Just wanted to clear it before I dipped my toes in. [There's the sound of rustling.] So there are transports that go to them but won't let people without particular levels of authorization go? Or do they not go at all?

More the latter than the former, I think. There might be exceptions, but considering what's happened with the last jump...

[She shakes her head, tapping the shotgun on her hip.]

What's the phrase? 'It's dangerous to go alone'.

Sounds like that was a new one to everybody. Sorry about that if it was one of your friends. Tough way to go.

[He considers the shotgun.]

As far as weaponry goes, I'd have to rely on what was available on the ship. The materials sent with me were minimal. [Much to his great displeasure. He'd much rather have a blaster or at least a knife. It's been a long time since he went this long disarmed, and he doesn't like it.]

[She technically also has her pistol here, but she's not just going to offer it out to a stranger she barely knows.]

He was a good man trying to get to the bottom of things here. That's more than most people can say.

[There's a pause while she glances to the side.]

But I'm being rude. I'm Tali -- you arrived this past jump, I'm guessing?

[For all she knows, he could've been waiting quietly for an entire month.]

I wish more people could say it, ma'am.

[Maybe a ma'am? He probably shouldn't jump to that conclusion. He could be accidentally insulting.]

Thompson. [He'll keep up with the lie for now. Not that it matters, as he doesn't have a name in any case. "K" is more of a designation.] And yes, I did. How long have you been stuck here?

About a month.

[She ... pauses.]

Three months, non-continuous. I was one of the first arrivals here, but then I was returned home.

[She'd spent most of that time miserable and with more command power than she was strictly comfortable with, but still.]

Hm. So they sent you home. And then brought you back.

That's weird.

[But it means that they're capable of doing it.] Any interruption of mental processes? Memory gaps?

There was some memory loss when I first arrived here, but the memories of being here before returned in the first day or so.

While I was at home, I didn't remember anything from this place.

Did you miss any time? Or were aware that you were gone? [He's wondering what kind of neuralyzation system the ship has now.]

I was completely unaware.

I can only assume it was some sort of time-travelling device that brought us here in the first place, and simply returned us to -- the same exact point in time that we left.

[Definitely good. It means if the conditions are right, they can get out of here. Or have the technology to eventually give their captors hell.]

Has this happened to anyone else?

Not to my knowledge, but I've seen some mentions on the network of losing time in this place without leaving.

[She ... sighs.]

Things keep getting stranger and stranger here, though. It's -- worrisome. I hope you can defend yourself -- it might be necessary soon.

I do alright. But thank you for warnin' me, ma'am. I appreciate it.

Mind if I ask where you're from? [He can't jump to too many conclusions. She might be something Earth based.]

[Oh, K, you just jumped drastically on the list of people that Tali respects -- so much so that she actually has to mention it.]

You're one of the first people to ask me where I'm from instead of what I am. You're familiar with species other than your own?

[That she's pleased is obvious in her voice.]

Rannoch. It's in the Tikkun system, beyond the Perseus Veil.

[Maybe he's familiar with the area...]

[He stays in slight cagey bastard mode- after all, there's a lot of people listening. He's still got to get the hang of these encryption settings while he's at it.]

I'm afraid not. Do you have the Earth equivalent of Galactic Stellar Coordinates? I don't think I've heard of the Perseus Veil off the top of my head.

[But somehow he'd remember the Galactic Coordinates. Good job, Kay.]

[Unfortunately, game canon is really vague on this sort of thing. There are space coordinates, though, so Tali rambles those off. It's at least in the Milky Way Galaxy...]

Whether that's helpful or not is another thing, of course.

I know those general coordinates, but I don't know of a race from that system. Would they be registered as warp jump capable?

Until very recently, the system was occupied strictly by synthetic creatures called the geth -- but we definitely have warp capabilities. Everyone has access to ftl technology if they've got the money for it.

Must be a few steps ahead of us, then. [Though he doesn't seem too put off by the idea of space travel.]

What's your home like? [He's genuinely interested. He likes hearing what's out there. Even if he's committed to Earth's jurisdiction, he's happy to stay there, but he also likes his job in part because it lets him know those things.]

[K just asks all the right questions, doesn't he? She's happy to ramble about the planet.]

Rannoch is a desert planet. No insects, arid climate ... the plants rely on animals to help them reproduce, so there were always very few direct threats to my peoples' health.

When we were driven off the planet originally, our weakened immune systems atrophied further on sterile ships -- so that's why we wear these suits.

I don't think you missed much of a party with pollen. It just ends in mucus and hurt feelings.

[But dry humor aside.]

It's not given you a problem here on this ship, has it?

Not so far. I've been lucky enough to not have any suit tears here.

[She waves a hand to the side.]

My locker had a patch kit here when I first arrived, though, which doesn't exactly make me feel secure.

[Especially with what happened to Hotspur.]

Do you have to get out of the cooking vat without it on? [Awful big risk they're asking her to take if she had to show up naked like everybody else.]

Fortunately not.

[Which means that they probably don't want her to die, which is only marginally comforting now.]

Well if you need anything, ma'am, I'd be happy to help you out. It's what I do back home.

I'd rather keep it quiet- we're supposed to be secretive except to the people we're helping. But I promise if you end up in a situation I'd do everything in my ability to give you a hand.

That's -- good to know. I haven't had any problems in this place. Nobody knows quarians as space rats here, though.

The security team handles punishment. You'll want to direct your attentions notably to a Captain - [ All the sarcasm in Erik's tone. ] - Kirk.

Short of a single incident, [ As far as Erik knows of. ] there hasn't been much to regulate in the first place.

I saw him addressing the ship before. [And Riddick, too, but he just watched, and didn't say much. He's gotten good at lurking.]

What incident was that? [Besides the horror story of a body that happened.]

A failed attempt at a mutiny. The perpetrator was caught and thrown into the brig.

[ The shrug is evident in Erik's tone, that he doesn't seem to care much for them. ]

Needless to say it stirred up enough excitement overall, but was poorly executed in the long run.

[Erik is kind of catty and this quietly amuses him.]

Just one guy mutinied? Who threw him in the brig? [He wonders whether it was the couple of original residents or the newcomers.]

As far as I know, it was Captain Kirk and his team. [ Another audible shrug because he really doesn't like the way authority on board seems to function. ]

They've been here the longest and as such you'll want to speak to them directly.

I'm not on the security team, but I doubt they'd pass up an extra set of hands.

Thank you, kindly. I'll talk to uh- what's Kirk's official position on this ship? [Because talking to a captain who is not a captain is strange. He's pretty sure he's not meant to be here as a Senior Agent.]

Captain Kirk is a voluntary member of the gunnery aboard the Tranquility. As am I.

However, one passenger Dean Winchester is considered lead of the Security department. Should you desire I am able to provide you with individual communication numbers.

I'd like that, thank you. [He's the picture of politeness when he's not particularly angry about something.]

Outside of some loose leadership positions is there a chain of command that's followed or forced on us whichever is the case, or does everyone hold on to their seats and hope for the best.

Spock's got this covered, looks like.

Usually its a good idea to familiarize yourself with the rules, regulations, and expected requirements of staying in a place or someone might take it upon themselves to give you or everyone around you a real hard time.

I assume you've been forwarded to Captain Kirk?

I have. And a Dean Winchester. Whoever that is. [He likes the last name, though.]
