[What on earth... Was this thing? It was definitely unlike anything Lenna had ever seen before... Nonetheless, the pink-haired girl manages to turn the device on and clumsily picking the ‘audio’ option.]

If you all wouldn’t mind, I would like to take up but a moment of your time.

[She speaks in a soft, but stern voice. She can’t afford to show any weakness, especially in this foreign place. She also speaks a bit slow, but that's only because of her confusion in this weird place.]

I was just curious to know if anyone could possibly fill me in on what is exactly is my purpose here. Why was I brought to this odd place? Is there some sort of task I am supposed to accomplish? Please, if anyone knows anything... Anything at all, please reply to me.

[A pause.]

Oh! Thank you for your time.

Negative. You have no purpose. There's no reason you were brought here, unless if you can work, and even that's just mindless busywork sometimes, if you can do it. [Way to break the ice, Rey.]

[Well, it certainly caught the woman's attention, that's for sure.]

[Would Lenna question further? Perhaps, but right now she just wanted to wind down a bit and what better way than to make some idle conversation? ... Ir at least try to, anyway.]

This place is so different than where I'm from! Such technology does not exit back home... It's quite amazing.

... Oh! My name is Lenna Charlotte Tycoon, by the way. Is it alright if I ask for yours?

[She doesn't say anything at first. She just kind of nods, which turns out to be an uncomfortable pause because she realizes she hasn't utilized video for this conversation. Oh well.]

Do you come from a primitive world?

[Once again, she falls quiet. You people and your long-winded three-lettered names. At least, it's long-winded to her, when all she has in return is:] Rey.

[Just that. Nothing fancy.]

[She laughs softly.]

Primitive? Hmm... While we do not possess a lot of technology, we do have plenty of magic... Though, that thought alone could be considered quite primitive.

[Oh, she almost missed the girl's name! Good thing she caught that,...]

Miss Rey? It's a pleasure to meet you, then... Or rather, to speak with you.

Magic? Like in children's stories? [At least, she's pretty sure that she's heard of kids talking about stuff like those. It's all vague.

[It's too bad that Rey has issues with emoting herself properly. She might have been a bit more convincing when she replies:] Likewise, I suppose.

...You're complacent for an arrival.

Perhaps where you come from they are only heard in children's stories, yes, but where I am from, the presence of magic is hardly alarming. Most citizens are able to use it, though, it does take time and skill to use the more difficult spells.

[She pauses again, thinking how to answer that last bit.]

Not exactly... I hate to say it, but this is merely a front, of sorts. While I may want to cry and scream about how this place is frightening and how different it is, I cannot afford to do that. It is in my best interest to keep my head high and keep a calm front.

Though, I am guessing that not many others have behaved in such a way upon first arriving.

Interesting.

[Seems so, right? Since experiencing "euphoria", it feels like Rey has some idea as to what intrigue feels like, among other things that is... nice. And almost more pleasant, in terms of figuring how what demeanor to put on when talking to people.

[On that note, Rey understands what it means to put on a front. One drop was all it took.]

Not many do, no. But everyone is different.

I don't think we really have a specific purpose here.

Man, I wish I could tell you. But as you watch about eight million other posts scolls by asking the same things, or weird posts in code, or -- just stuff nobody gets as people try to flush out folks from their world:

Oh, sweetie... [ Her voice is that of 'oh you poor, injured bird.' It's the soft voice that does it--she's not going to patronize the girl, she knows better to do that because there's a layer of strength in the way she speaks, but still. ]

If it's purpose you're looking for, I'm afraid there's none right now.
