[ No video this time, because Erik is paranoid as fuck in the aftermath of pretty much everything. And hearing from the smiley face thing Stark pointed out initially does nothing to cure that paranoia. It takes him a while to put together the list, but it's the poem itself, that Erik recognized as familiar. Being from the sixties means he doesn't quite manage off to solve the technology aspect just yet, but he'll get there in due time. ]

Cliched poetry, [ He says, sarcastically as possible. ] like our stay here wasn't any more pleasant than it was initially.

No doubt our friends are hinting at a means of cooperation amongst us. Its implication is not one I'm fond of.

I think it's about time someone else steps up.

[ ooc: ICly shortly before Neal's post because I'm slow. Also filter is open to basically anyone with positive/decent experiences with Erik; if you've talked to him, you're on it. ]

Every human slip up.

[ The correction is simple, but the intent is clear. ]

Are we?

[ You can practically hear the head tilt in his voice. ]

It's not mere human who would do something so bold. They have too much cowardice. Not unless it's an organization, but it would be impeccably tightly knit.

I only know ten, personally. [ He admits, and then pauses a moment to assess. ] Two. The number whose motives I don't realize. But one's a priest, so I guess he's supposed to be nicer. [ Yoite pauses again, the frown in his voice. When he speaks, it's clear he's not talking of something more superficial, like looks. ] The rest are uglier. So, if using this ratio, only one in five humans don't approach you merely because they want something, or out of hatred for something they don't understand. They're not very good odds.

[ Another beat, as he assesses Erik's words. He sounds truly confused, and tries to piece together his motives. ] In which case, do you suggest the perpetrator could be someone who dislikes non-humans?

I know there are. But I singled out humans and you sounded interested. I thought you might be stupid for a second, but that was wrong.

[ He really does mean that as a compliment, is the worst part. ]

Humans don't like what they can't understand. Most creatures don't, but humans are at a disadvantage. They don't have powers and such things can't be learned. Their hatred is predictable. [ He sighs, not out of regret for what he's talking about, but this conversation is tiring, and he's thinking. ] Other theories regarding the list, then?

[ In a sense. With much more nihilism than Erik, perhaps. ] Modest too. [ Said a bit sarcastically, but not cruelly. He pauses a moment, and then continues. ] There's only one of me. I guess that makes my job easy.

Someone's usually watching. But why bring it up now?

But some of them have been here a while. And they've had their noses that whole time. So why now?
