[Taylor doesn't waste any time for adjustment as she turns on the feed, the camera barely managing to achieve focus before she's talking. Clearly angry, but there's a slight tension at the edges of her eyes, and she's keeping her voice oddly low and hushed even as she snarls at the camera.]

I want them back. You give them back to me-- [She stops, suddenly, looking off to the side. The camera drops, getting a very close shot of the gun she's holding in her other hand before an even closer shot of the inside of her wrist.

Silence, for a long while. Then the device is pulled back up to show her face again with no explanation for the interruption.]

You give them back to me now, or I am going to come and find you, and I am going to fucking kill you.

[The video cuts as abruptly as it had started.]

Hey?

[ The bark of a word isn't so much filled with anger as concern, designed to grab her attention with its force. Yeah, Dean likes teasing Tyke and seeing her pissed at him because he's being a jackass. But this? This is worrying. ]

The hell's wrong?

[It does catch her attention, and after the demon incident, there's a part of her mind that's ingrained his voice in as one to listen to. But all he gets for a moment or two is the sound of her running before she stops to respond,]

They took my dogs.

Who? Who took your dogs?

[ That's not really the question he wants to ask, but it's motivation to use that gun and Dean knows those dogs mean a hell of a lot to her. He'd like to avoid somebody getting shot. ]

I don't know.

[She hadn't seen it happen. But with the glimpses she keeps catching at corners, the snatches of music she keeps hearing... there's no point telling Dean. She hasn't told him anything, he doesn't know. But she hadn't known about demons, either.]

Cartazonos.

[She doesn't sound certain.]

[ He's quick to try and pull up familiarity in that name but fails - he doesn't know what the hell she's talking about and that frustrates him. ]

Who? [ He leaves only a tiny pause before he's speaking again, doesn't really give her a chance to explain just yet. ]

Look, whoever it was we'll find 'em. But the gun? [ What he's asking is if it's necessary. He's not going to act like he has a clue who this Cartazonos is, but if Tyke says she needs a gun then he's not going to say otherwise. He trusts her judgement. ]

[Dean asks who, and explaining will take too long, but Taylor can try. But then he's saying more, and that's okay, she can leave it. It isn't necessary. He asks about her gun, and she thinks: he's right. She's been trained, intensively, but with all the endless dark corridors there was still the chance to hurt someone unintentionally. To damage the ship.

But then she thinks: he wants me unarmed. Instructor Faber, phonepath. Vocal mimicry, manipulation and theft. 'Dean' hadn't waited for an answer on Cartazonos because 'he' didn't need one.

Her voice turns harder again.]

I need my fucking dogs, Dean.

[Without them, all she had was her gun - without either, she was useless.]

Yeah, that I know. Make no freakin' mistake about that. [ If that sounds like it's a little more personal than their conversation is really letting on maybe it is. Dean's spent more than enough time alone with her to know that very well. ]

Where are you? [ The gun, though. The gun he can't get past. Whatever the hell's going on here he wants to be with her when the shit hits the fan. Call it the perks of being important to a Winchester. ]

[A long pause, because yeah, that sounds like Dean. But that would be the point of mimicking him, wouldn't it? Finding someone she listened to like that.]

I don't know.

[It's the truth, although if she did know, she wouldn't say.]

Look around 'n tell me what you can see.

Another dark empty corridor, what the fuck do you think--

[She stops, like she has seen something, but it's not anything that'll help anyone locate her. It's something that sets her running again, instead.

That's all the sound Dean gets for a minute, and then the feed cuts.]

[ It's only because she's human at the moment that she's able to respond at all, tucked into a corner in the dark. ]

Want what back?

[ Her voice is hushed too, and the way she's holding her device makes it clear that she's about ready to stuff it away if she has to. She'd rather not lose it mid-shift. ]

[Taylor hadn't really intended for her message to be used as a venue to chat - just as a warning. When she gets Jaye's response, she's moving again, working her way down a corridor, quickly but carefully. She glances at the screen, enough to see the woman's face and recognise her, but then she looks away, scanning her surroundings again as she speaks.]

My dogs.

[ Warnings are, in Jaye's opinion, best listened to when you know why you're being warned. Jaye hasn't taken anything of the other woman's, as far as she knows, but that paranoia slithered up on her (what if she did, what if she thinks she did, what if it's an excuse--) and pushed her into answering.

Dogs. Well, Jaye definitely didn't take those, but she likes animals. ] What do they look like? [ She might have seen them, can't be sure really. It seems like all sorts of creatures are out on the ship at the moment. Maybe every wolf she's seen has just been her reflection. ]

Like dogs.

[It's a snapped response, anger still simmering at the surface. They were the only dogs on board, Taylor knew that, even with the wolves people were talking about. Still, she concedes after a moment or two,]

Chihuahua, bull terrier, kooikerhondje.

[ Tyke snaps at her and Jaye snaps back, though instead of doing it verbally, hers is an actual snapping of teeth and a growl. Nonhuman teeth, too, the yellowed canines of a tiger peeking out from below her lips before she forces the shift back, faint imprints of stripes fading away. She usually has more control than that.

That said, she knows what it's like to have something (someone) important taken from you, and after Tyke concedes, Jaye nods her head and does the same. ]

I'll look for them.

[Taylor hears the snap of teeth and the growl, but she isn't looking at the device, and instead whatever animal made that noise is transported to the corridor she's in. She turns, gun raised, searching the gloom, but no beast (and no dog) makes itself apparent. It's only after this that she remembers she'd been talking on the comm, lifts it again to give her own nod.]

Alright.

[Ordinarily, she'd say thanks, remember Jaye had made the offer and hold that as a positive mark against her. But right now, she knows no one else will find her dogs - only her.]

[ He hadn't actually seen her before, but the number is the same. ]

Tyke? Who took what?

[Her current mindset makes that name startling, especially in a voice she doesn't altogether recognise. But she remembers him when she takes the time to look at her device.]

My dogs. The Academy, Cartazonos, they've taken them.

I didn't see any dogs around... do you know where they took 'em?

If I knew I'd fucking be there. [She shakes her head, looking frustrated.] I need to find them.

[ He tilts his head, considering ] I'll help look, okay? Just tell me where to start.

We were at the oxygen garden.

[All she's been doing since then is taking the corridors in a grid pattern - when she wasn't chasing the figures she kept catching glimpses of. She shakes her head.]

But you can't listen.

[She would hear - know - when her dogs were close. He couldn't.]

[ that gives him pause because hey, not deaf ] Listen? What do you mean listen?

For my dogs.

[She's too distracted to remember the details of their first conversation, that she'd gone so far as to tell him she had an ability, but not what it was. Instead she just skips over to the fact that if he's going to look for them, he needs to know what he's looking for.]

There are three of them. A bull terrier, a chihuahua and a kooikerhondje.
