[It's taken Isaac longer to pull himself together, so you'll excuse him for being late to the intro party. Well, if you want to get technical, he hasn't pulled himself together at all. He's only been temporarily calmed down, and the weary man that appears on the video feed is clearly still very anxious. He's thin and disheveled, probably in need of some sleep, and nervously biting at his fingernails. It takes him a moment to speak, and when he does, it's in a very soft, shaking voice.]

What do I have to do to get them to take me home?

[He swallows thickly, tightly clenching his hand closed.]

Please--there's something important that I still need to do.

[Left the stove on, gotta let himself be killed, really no difference. Isaac is an odd one. He pauses, shakes his head, and lets out a soft chuckle.]

No, of course not. That would take some luck, wouldn't it?

Maybe not, but you've not got much choice but to embrace it. At least until we find a way to get home.

You want to die?

[He thinks for a moment, wrestling with an answer. Does he want to die? No, not really. He just wants to stop feeling worthless and inadequate and guilty. He wants to rewind two years of his life and do it all over again properly, ability or no ability.]

It's the easiest way. [His words are slow and careful.] It's the only way I can play my part.

[ He tilts his head slightly, looking into the video feed just as calculatingly as he had when he'd seen Isaac down in the jump bay. ]

And that's important to you? More important than living?

[ Peter your friend is a horrible coward. Wanting to die to avoid responsibility? What were you running away from, Issac? ]

I'll let you in on a secret. It would have been easy to let Peter explode, let him kill all those people. But it wasn't right.

You don't understand.

[He is a coward, and he'd like to run away from everything if you please. It's more than that, though. To him, dying offers him so many things. Not only could he finally be at peace, finally stop seeing the visions, but it offers him one opportunity to make up for what he's done. He could be heroic, and that's all he's ever really wanted.]

He still exploded. It wasn't stopped. It still happened, just not the way I saw it. There's no way to do that in this situation. You can't just reroute death.

You can. You just change it. Maybe not in your case, but I don't believe everything is destined to happen a certain way. Just because Peter says I'm gonna let a guy shoot him doesn't mean that it's gonna happen, either. It can change.

[ He folded his arms. ]

The real problem is that none of us are leaving. At least not yet. So you can curl up in a ball and wait for it to go away or you can do something with it.
