[The feed turns on and you get a slightly awkward smiling face. Those who recognize Peeta will see a completely different guy than the one that freaked out after the jump and didn't even seem able to stand up.]

I'm... sure you're getting a lot of these messages lately and I don't mean to bother you with yet another one but it's become pretty obvious we have to stick together in a place like this, right?

So, hi. [He gives a little wave to the camera. Peeta has always been good at talking to crowds.]

I'm Peeta. If anybody that knows me- from my world, I mean- sees this, please tell me you’re here. And safe.

I'm totally overwhelmed by all this but I'm trying to understand, so if any of you need any kind of help with anything, just ask. You don't even have to give me anything on return; I'm not even sure what would be considered useful.

[A beat, as if he was considering something.]

Actually, does somebody know if there’s some kind of kitchen around I could use? Or maybe some paintings? Because if we’re going to stay in here for a while it’s better to find some distractions.

You'll find a kitchen on every floor of the passenger quarters. It'll be just off the common area. Have you found your room yet?

( Well, if anything she has to talk to this guy about cooking, because people she misses are into cooking. Her favourite people, in fact, and even if she's only been here a little while, she really isn't thrilled.

Her accent is extremely British, but she's a bit more relaxed than in her own post. ) I take it you're about as new as I am, Peeta? I hope you're a bit less abysmal in the kitchen than I am, otherwise the entire ship will be in trouble if you find it.

[It's a shock, seeing him on the network. Alive. And as far as she can tell, uninjured. It's a relief, albeit a really unexpected one. Although now that she thinks about it, if Haymitch, Effie (wherever she is) and Finnick are here, it was only a matter of time before he turned up.

She stares at her comm for what seems like forever before she finally manages to ask:]

[Oh, that's a curious accent indeed. Peeta had heard some people spoke differently depending on the districts but he's never something like Watson's accent.

He instantly likes it.]

Oh, thank you! And... I haven't really looked, I wanted to see if somebody from my country was here first.

[Peeta smiles at her. Another person with an accent he has never heard... he wonders if they are from the same world.]

I guess I am, I came on the last, uh, 'jump'. And I can defend mysef pretty well, if I say so myself.

[Because never let it be said that Peeta bragged.]

...Really? That's a shame. One would think we'd at least some kind of distraction.

[A beat.]

Is there frosting of some kind? Or the ingredients for it?

[He wouldn't usually ask that outright, specially now that he knows he's surrounded by people that don't even come from his world. But he wants to keep himself away from the Capitol people for as long as he's able to.

And mutations always make him thing of the Capitol's weird body modifications.]

[He knew Katniss was here, Haymitch had told him. And he'd told him she was safe, she was alright. But still Peeta can't help the relief that washes over his face, or the tightening feeling in his gut at seeing her.

He also stares at the feed for a moment before he speaks.]

I'm looking for my room- where are you? I'll go look for you.

The U.S.A?

[ He ventures, carefully. ]

Well, the good thing about the communicator is that it is mobile.

[Because if so that is... a really good idea.]

[She tilts her head to the side, then brings a hand up to tug at the edge of her headscarf.]

No, I don't think so. I'm -- from Rannoch.

[It's nice to be able to say that again.]

[She shakes her head.]

No, you stay. I'm more familiar with the ship anyway. It will be quicker if I come to you. I'll even help you find your room later.

[This is the least she can do after failing to get to him in the arena before everything went to hell. For now, anyways.]

That's a relief. I was banned from touching anything by the head chef, back on the Asgardreid-- I mean, they tried to actually teach me, but they've come to accept that boiling eggs is a bit out of my league.

( She says it lightly, but actually? It's pretty accurate. She sighs, deceptively lightly, and leans back a little. ) It's certainly... an experience, jumping in, isn't it?

U.S.A? No, I'm from Panem.

[He's never heard that acronym before. He laughs a little at the second statement, though.]

Yes, it's curious. We had plenty of communicating devices but I never got my hand on a single one for myself.

[Peeta... nods, then tilts his head. Because that's good, but he's never heard of a place with that name.]

I guess we're from different worlds. I'm from Panem.

[He makes a face, he really didn't want her to know.]

[He laughs a bit] I'm sure it's not that bad. I'm more of a baking guy, anyway.

[He nods] 'Experience' is a light way to put it. They told me it gets easier but honestly? I kind of doubt anything like that can get 'easier' in any way.
