[ this is unusual at best, but john watson is the adapting sort. he has to when his best friend (arguably. loathing as he would be to admit it) is sherlock holmes. this is simply part and par for the course. for the most part, he has kept a low profile, asking questions to find out pertinent information. and even figured out how to use this little device. sort of. it's like a handheld typewriter. fascinating.
except he doesn't know it broadcasts out to everyone. w h o o p s. ]
The imagination is a powerful tool.
Except I cannot help but wonder if this is less imagination and more hallucination. Last I remember, I was at home in the study and the next moment--as if reality itself had shifted--I was covered in an unidentifiable substance. Blue in color, nearly gelatinous in texture but washed away cleanly in the showers. No visible harm, no internal damage from what I can assess. Curious, really.
From what I have gathered this is a ship in space. Seems highly far fetched to me. How is a ship able to move through air and no water? Something does not ring right about this place, as if a mystery is unfolding down each strangely dark corridor. Even some odd demon-like possessions as it were. Surely a place worthy to keep Holmes busy for at least a week.
[ on the other end of the device—and he'd INHERENTLY disagree if anyone saw. but there's almost a nostalgic sort of smile that passes over his lips. but then it's gone nearly as quickly as it came. ]
Too bad you have to miss this, old chap.

Oh, so Irene and I can steal him for our own nefarious schemes? I suppose I can live with that. He needs a firm hand anyway and you clearly aren't up to the task if you won't even claim him. [ yeah, this entire conversation is most definitely ensuring that she's never wearing anything around watson. this is just fun. ] Of course he would, but your heart is too good to leave him out there. Because he might die.
[ she lets out a laugh. ] I do, and I happen to share a name with a woman you know who wears far more clothes and does rather enjoy playing with your Holmes.
Think.

and then he just sighs, rubs his eyes and stares at her face...!!! make no mistake, he's not looking elsewhere. ]
So, another Ms. Adler. [ a bit more forward, it seems. ] I hardly think it would constitute as stealing as he would most likely willingly go with her... you... you both. Holmes is a grown man and needs no claiming. [ he's just not even going to bother to respond to the other bit. because he would leave him out there. you know, for a little while. just to teach him a lesson. ]
video;
Try not to sound so pleased to have realized that, Dr. Watson. [ oh heavens. stop watson. just stop, this is so hard not to laugh at. ] Willingly? Truly? Don't tell me they're that close. Because then I should reprimand my counterpart for keeping a secret from me.
As for him being a grown man, are you sure we're talking about the same man? Because that's a bit of a lie.
video;
Pleased isn't exactly the word I would use, Ms. Adler. [ there's a slight pause—for how many times holmes had followed irene into the rabbit hole, he doesn't suspect this to be any different. he would pretend to argue and fuss, but he's always followed her easily. ] I do not pretend to know the workings of their....relationship... only how Holmes works. It would not take much convincing, I'm certain.
[ hahahaha. alright. he smiles a little at that. ] I never said he was grown in mind.
video;
What word would you use? Hm? [ word to the wise, watson, don't...pause when talking to irene. she'll note it. and file it under interesting things to note. ] It appears I'll have to ask her for the finer details. Not the worst thing I've done.
[ and oh look, watson, she'll give you her own little smile. ] Grown is such a relative word any way. Don't worry, I won't tell a soul you think it may not extend to his mind.
