I do believe we're supposed to meet for drinks. Unless you're too busy trying to save the ship. [A beat.] I'm just teasing. Besides, it's been a while.

[She supposed to be keeping tabs on him after all.]

We should catch up sometime, yeah?

[Voice filters out of the way, Bela begins to address the ship instead.]

So, aside from the obvious desire to get off this ship, what would each of you wish for above anything else?

Consider me curious.

[ It's a difficult question for him to answer because there isn't one, but two possible options he can go for; Erik, who wants mutant superiority over the rest, the particular demon in him who's here for the chaos, and it leads to a rather frustrating moment where either answer would be suitable. ]

I believe you already know mine.

I do, yes. It's not something that I'm going to share with anyone else so don't worry.

[Bela isn't going to betray his trust after all. They had come to some form of agreement and she felt like he was someone that she should have on her side in case things got bad for her.]

How have you been since we last spoke?

Of course you wouldn't. [ Just a confirmation of her words there, that despite what she's said, he does have a bit of faith in her. Faith that no doubt would be easily manipulated if she was likely to have any inclination of what he was up to for the time being. ] I'd have to kill you if you did. [ He continues, laughing briefly after that. ]

But I digress, I've been doing exceptionally well since we've last spoke. [ A little too well, as far as things go. ]

[Despite his laughter, Bela knew that he was being serious about that. Having a strong survival instinct, she wasn't going to do anything to screw it up and have him come after her. But trust was something that could be broken easily and she knew that she still had to be cautious around him.]

That's good news. Don't suppose you'd care to expand on just how well you've been doing? Even a tiny bit? [Bela was curious.]

That would make things too easy, wouldn't it? [ Erik laughs briefly, a smirk practically seen despite the nature of their conversation for the time being.

It's not that he wouldn't tell her, they've spoken enough in the past few weeks that Erik could easily talk to her as needed, but such a comment would easily alert anyone, particularly her about what he's been up to as of late. ]

Let's just say things have finally gone in my favor, and we'll work from there.

Yes, it would. [Bela smiles a little, unable to let go of or quell her curiosity about what he had been up to.

Talking to someone via the network wasn't always so secure and someone could hack in somehow, no matter if they privatised the message or not. If he needed to tell her something important, Bela assumed he would and vice versa.]

Then I suppose I should be happy for you. In my case, things haven't really changed for me; they haven't gotten any worse or better.

Haven't learned anything new, then? [ Harmless enough in the meantime, since their conversation isn't private and Erik can't bring himself to hide anything just yet. Any other case he would, when he's more of stable mind, but right now it's a futile attempt at gleaning information that could work for either of them. ]

And there I was thinking we'd both get somewhere since we last spoke.

Still working on that part. [It wasn't for lack of trying, she just hadn't really gotten anywhere yet and Bela was getting frustrated. Perhaps she needed to reach out beyond the people she had already spoken to.]

Yeah? Well, at least one of us seem to be doing fine with it. However, that doesn't mean I'm giving up; it's not my style.

Keep working then. [ It's almost said with a smile, one that came from Erik rather than anyone else. ] Eventually we'll have a real conversation.

I can't say I'm upset by that. Giving up right away would earn us next to nothing. Is there anyone else of interest I should be paying attention to?

[Bela acknowledges that with a nod and a little smile, showing that she understood.] Or another drink if you wanted to.

No one yet. But I'll keep an eye out for anyone who might be worth a look.

I would never say no to a drink with you. [ And he really wouldn't, now or ever. ] Not when you're one of the few worth talking to.

But please do. I'll reciprocate as needed.

I was rather hoping you'd say that. [She sounds quite pleased, her tone almost a purr.] You've certainly held my interest.

Gladly. And thank you.

It'd be a shame if I couldn't hold your interest, dear. [ There's practically a smirk on his end with that tone, pleased as well. ]

After how long we've know each other?

A damn shame indeed. [Bela isn't going to disagree with him. She likes the banter that they have.]

Almost a month now, give or take a few days.

Nowhere near long enough, then. We'll have to keep talking.

Agreed. Just say when and where and I'll be there.

Of course. I wouldn't have it any other way.
