Now ▒▓n Rijn wants to help us find our homes.
Given the disparity in ▓▓▒▒▒olog▒cal advances, in the event of surrender, I project a zero ▓▒▒cent chance of survival for planet earth in 197▓.
Back to you.

The risk is death, but that goes without saying now. Anything we do will have a high chance of mortality--near certainty, if we keep trying to fight them and do nothing else.
If nothing is done, we will be captured, and-or killed. We don't need numbers to tell us that.
[although he wouldn't mind if someone had a more sciencey take on it.]

[ no science, just the view from the gunnery deck to back this up. ]

It's up to us if we want to surrender to the people with more guns who want to kill us, or attempt a risky escape on a very likely crippled ship. No option is a good option but I'm trying not to think on it too much.

incidentally, this process is instantaneous and poorly understood.
the process of experimentation, building manticores or whatever the fuck-- we have insight into that. we've seen it takes time. say what you want about how sinister that sounds, but nothing's actionable when you're fucking dead.

It won't fail if enough of us put force behind it. The connection to the ship has to serve a purpose for better or worse and we ought to use it to our advantage, especially when it's our ONLY advantage.

basically: he agrees wholeheartedly.]
We're going to need everyone. Or as many people as we can possibly enlist.
--So, right. Everyone.
pardon me im going to delete lower-down comments to reduce redundancy and move em around
families who can't get off at this point because we've blown our wad on fucking shuttle fuel.
if you are telling me you'll give these kids an immeasurable-to-1% chance of survival based on incomprehensible physics, unseen technology, and the psychic abilities of amoral demons we have zero goddamn control over, instead of opting to fight the local military and their scary petri dishes, then you are an asshole.

"scary petri dishes" are yo
u out of your fucking mind?

can you tell me how you managed
because that would make any of your fucking arguments sound actually sane
short of that.

William.
I never would have suggested this if I thought there was any way we could avoid it. If there is slim hope then we ought to take that road, but we have more control over this than if we surrender our control to them.
Do you want those families to suffer under a government who doesn't give a bloody fuck about us?
This is our best option and we ought to prepare for it whether it happens or not.

Still, if you can run unknown variables to give us unobtainable numbers maybe that would tilt things in our favour. [he's trying not to be a snarky asshole so his tone is 'grim humour' instead of 'spiteful sarcasm']
