Is there a software library being maintained anywhere? If not, does anyone have anything they've written for themselves that they wouldn't mind sharing? I've already found "Spunes."
[That might be something to ask his brother about.]
I'm not willing to test it on any of the machines here yet. I can't risk corrupting the data. But if you need any coding done, I can see what I can do to help.
It's the base program for a healthcare assistant. I have something like ten thousand medical procedures programmed in with algorithms for assessing and treating any causes of distress in a patient.
I've heard that from a few people. We have a lot of sci fi stuff about AI gone wrong where I'm from, but as far as I know, we haven't developed any problems with AI beyond normal coding errors or lack of tech keeping the AI from doing everything we hoped.
The communications department has been working on a few programs, though it's been lower priority since we were short handed. Were you looking for something in particular?
Spunes was one of the larger projects. There are some games and more utilitarian programs, including file converters. The devices here tend to use fairly proprietary formatting. We have compilations of what we're sure actually works.
I'm not in the habit of offering classified material. You would have more resources if you joined the department, but you're free to work with the finished projects.
I've got some stuff I've been practicing with to get familiar with the system. Pong, snake. That kind of thing.
More useful: I worked up a script to tag, filter, and flag entries on the network via search terms while I go through the backlog and catch up. The audio/video transcription component needs some work, but for text updates, it's been helping me skip over the personal drama and stick the real problem at hand.
Omg ok you are about to have your life changed. By me. I'm going to change your life. Hang on let me just transfer them to you. They're not exactly huge files.

Code reuse. Plus someone might be hoarding games.

That does sound useful. I haven't looked much outside of what we're linked to.

have you never played pong?

I've also never heard of a game called Snake, but that one sounds less made-up.

Who named it Pong?

What are you looking for? I'm pretty tech savvy, I might be able to help.
