[The moment the feed turns on Chuck can be seen in one very specific kitchen of Tranquility version of The Pie hole, at least for people familiar with it which she figures aren't many people lately with how people coming and going, hence this very special announcement!]

You know, I think it's been a while since I addressed the network like this but I figured now was a good time as any since the jump is over, so hi! [Chuck smiles brightly, waving briefly at the feed]

If we haven't or spoken before, my name is Chuck and well the reason for this is well— this is the Pie Hole, the space edition. [She glances backwards panning the video feed so that everyone gets a look at the place, the pies on the counter clearly visible before she turns it back to herself] My boyfriend Ned, he was the one who set this up several months ago and though he's been gone, I've been keeping up with it here too since it was kind of like home away from home— which okay, I know it's pretty cheesy but I helped him with his pieshop back home too.

I knew that some people already knew about but with people coming and going every jump, I figured I would spread the word a little for anyone interested. We're located just adjacent to the Oxygen Gardens so it's hard to miss. Anyone is welcome to drop by or even contact me and leave a request if you want something in the form of a personal delivery.

Speaking of which, here's a question for everyone: What is your favourite flavor of pie? I feel like the menu could use a few more options and I'm curious if you have a preference for any particular kind.

[Hello Chuck, the universe and the powers that be sincerely apologize for what's about to happen.

One disgruntled Dean Winchester pops on the network, hands up, lips parted, incredulous.]

Woah, woah, woah, woah- back up, rewind for a second here.

[ He gestures at the camera with open fingers. ]

You mean to tell me there's been a goddamn pie place open on this ship this whole time? You're telling me I've gone months without any goddamn pie, and there's a freaking pie diner like twenty feet away that does home freaking deliveries?

[Get.

The hell.

Yeah, there is and— [Oh hey Dean. Guess who totally recognizes you?

For a second she is totally surprised to hear from him because it has been a while to which she assumed he'd gone home. She didn't realize that he was back but either way given what she does know about him? She can understand how he was not pleased that this was his first time hearing about the place not to mention his response clearly indicates he doesn't remember being here before] Wait, Dean. You're back?

I mean. I'm sorry— I would have told you sooner if I knew.

[ That abrupt pause in the middle of her sentence has his eyebrows hitching expectantly, and then he sees it. That look of recognition that starts in her eyes and spreads across her face, he's seen that look a hundred damn times. Another person he knows, or knew, or forgot, or however it works here.

Seriously, you'd think after this long it would stop happening. He should know better. He shakes his head. ]

Not exactly back, sorry lady.

[ He gesturest toward his temple. ]

Blank slate.

Oh— right, it's okay. I figured as much since you didn't recognize me or know about The Pie Hole either. [this would be where she introduces herself but she did that at the beginning of her announcement so she skips that part. she doesn't put too much focus on the fact she knew him before mostly in case it is weird for him or something]

But yes to all of the above since I didn't finish answering your questions.

[ He says, shaking his head in mild disbelief. ]

Just so you know, you just made space, like, six hundred times less crappy in one fell swoop.

[she just smiles hearing that because really if this helps people deal with being in place then she's all for it] I'm glad— that was kind of the goal here, or at least that's what Ned had in mind when he thought to set up something like this here.

[ The name Ned sounds familiar, but no face comes to mind. He seems to turn it over in his mind a second before letting it go and shaking his head. ]

Yeah, well, whoever he is, he's a good man. You can bet your ass I'm gonna be down there- like, every day.

[ A beat. ]

Forever. So.

[ Fire up them ovens. ]

[she smiles at that because she expected that from what she did know of him] I kind of figured as much.

I'll count on seeing you there then and if you do have any favourite kinds, just let me know!

[See this face? This is the face of childish curiosity]

I've never tried pie before. What kinds are there?

Really? Well it's definitely something you should try.

There are a probably as many kinds as you can imagine, most are either sweet or savory.

There are still a lot of foods I need to try here.

I like sweet things. I've been trying to taste every kind of fruit the ship has.

Well those are definitely a specialty of mine! Do you have any particular fruits in mind?

I like all sorts of berries. The ones that grow in the gardens.

Oh— that's easy enough. I can make you a mixed berry one to try then.

[His whole face lights up at that thought]

Pardi, that sounds amazing.

Doesn't it? Just wait until you try it too—

You know where the gardens are, right? I can have something ready for you soon if you're hungry enough to want some now.

I know the marvelous gardens. I'll be there soon!

Perfect. I'll see you soon.

[and sure enough sometime later chuck can be found at the pie hole when he does turn up]

I could help you come up with some new flavors. My dad's a baker, and I work in his bakery.

[He hesitates. He's still worried that this is some horrible trick, that he's really in the Capitol, but what's the harm in asking if he can help?] Do you... do you need help? I mean, I just got here, but I don't have anything to do.

Oh— really? Of course I'd love to have the help.

I mean it's only just me right now so I'd definitely appreciate it.

Yeah, of course! I'm pretty good with people, and I love baking. Oh- I should introduce myself. [He smiles, and it seems genuine and kind.] I'm Peeta Mellark.

Then you can consider yourself hired— it's nice to meet you Peeta.

I know you mentioned just arriving so do you need directions at all or I can show you where we're located if that's easier?

Heeeeeeell yes! Pie? Seriously? That's amazing. I want a million. Of every flavor.

[Wait.]

Wait, how do people pay for them?

[she laughs slightly at his enthusiasm but not in a bad way] I'd see what I can do.

As for payment, well the first slice is free and whatever else can be negotiated. I think most people usually offered to do dishes or something along those lines, I'm not too picky.

Oh, that's neat! I didn't know about the Pie Hole.

[He looks thoughtful.] Hmm... I'd say my favorite is like... berries all mixed together. Blueberries and raspberries and boysenberries.

I guess it's a good thing I made this announcement then, after all—

Oh! That's a good flavor too— and it's totally doable with what we have here so I can definitely add it to our menu.

[What. What. Help him understand this.]

So... you have a pie shop? You make them even though there's no money here?

[And yes. He's only asking because he's starting to open up to the idea of real food and some civilization again, after being here a month already. And pies, as much as he'd not like to admit it (since it ties to being a kid), are still unfortunately irresistible enough to be curious about on some level.]

Yeah, that's right— I enjoy making them and well like I said it reminds me of home.

There might not be money but usually what people typically do for payment is in the form of doing a few dishes or small things like that. [some people in the past have often given her things as a trade and insisted upon it but overall chuck wasn't doing this because she wants something out of it]

[Mmm, well, that makes some sense. Though he looks as if he's still considering what he should do, and he takes a moment to decide. But she doesn't raise any flags, and he's as good as cautious anyway, so it can't hurt to ask about things further.]

That's it? If I ask you to make me one, all I have to do is do an errand in exchange. [also yes, semi-conscientiously using the word errand here because he's old enough to be a little over chores. And with that sort of on mind, as an afterthought, he adds:]

Uh, what do you have besides dishes to do?

[she just nods at his question] Yeah pretty much. It's totally negotiable too, I'm not too picky— but aside dishes from other things may include helping me take orders or doing deliveries.

Oh and if you don't mind animals? I have three of them that I could use a hand in looking after.

[Oh no, those choices are every bit the same as he had to do at the farm and prison. Decisions...]

I- uh, guess I can do deliveries. ['cause even if it's risky in the halls, he'd rather do something similar to runs than the strange but normal first job sort of thing or-

hold on a second. Carl tilts his head slightly to the side.] You have animals?

[she gives a nod at his question and smiles slightly] Yeah, I have two dogs and a pig.

Okay. It's a deal. [And so he lightly nods back in turn, with a small smile tugging at the sides of his lips for a brief second, before he moves on to query more about the animals.]

How? ...Did they end up here like everybody else?

I'm not sure how it works. I think it's more like how items from home show up in our lockers— except they were found in part of the ship already wandering around. [she know that ned found digby wandering in the gardens, where as pigby was found by someone on floor 19]

[shaking his head pretty rapidly now.] What kinds of pie do you have?
