[Once she has Artanis back in the Gardens, Lúthien goes through the trouble of finding things they need from the kitchen, making sure they have all the things of theirs they might need and then pulls the ladder up into the flet.

She had considered sending this message anonymously but... Well, someone’s still fuming that her friend, her sister in many ways, had been wounded.]

I am Lúthien, daughter of King Thingol and Queen Melian the Maia of Doriath. And this message is to the woman that shot Artanis: I would recommend you stay away from the houses in the Oxygen Gardens trees. You are not our favorite person, currently.

[Not Lúthien’s anyway. And she can’t imagine she’s Artanis’ favorite.]

And the last thing I think you want is for the garden itself to turn on you. [Take that how you will. Some people that know her though will know exactly what she means by that.]

I will not stop anyone else but do not think I will be allowing just anyone to visit our flets before Artanis is recovered. As such I have raised the ladder. Do not try to force your way up. I have ways to keep people out even up here.

'Galadriel,' Lúthien, if you wish them to know of whom you speak. [A wince, as she tries to sit up.] I would speak with you on the rest. [Galadriel speak for 'please come here.']

Galadriel, of course. [Resisting urge to make a face at the correction.]

Do not strain yourself, Artanis. You need rest. [But fine, she'll be right there.]

[Don't make a face, Lu. Your incredibly handsome cousin gave her that name. But she'll wait patiently until Lúthien arrives.]

Is it truly necessary to issue threats on my behalf?

[She's not saying it's a bad name but, really, she's preoccupied. She wasn't exactly thinking about which name to use.]

It was not exactly threats. [It is though, yes.] Merely a warning.

[Lu no.]

There is no need. I am but one of any number who fell victim to recent circumstances; I hardly think it likely I will be singled out for a second attack. [But a weary smile creeps across her face and she reaches for Lúthien's hand.] Which is not to say that I am not touched by your concern.

You are the one I worry about though, the one I care most about. [She sighs softly and takes Galadriel's hand, carefully sitting beside her.]

You know I would do anything for you.

I know, my friend, sister of my heart. I know. [She might argue more, if she weren't still rather tired. And if she weren't aware that she'd likely be equally protective, were their positions reversed.] But you must promise to allow me some visitors, or else the boredom shall drive me mad.

I would not stop everyone from visiting. Goodness. [She's not a monster, after all.] Just when you are tired or should really be resting.

She may not recall, Luthien. It may not have been your Galadriel that she saw, upon firing.

( nuala suffered no injuries, but she is terribly weary. )

[What an impressive lineage you appear to have there, dear friend. And a temper as well. Both things that Leia can relate to on any day of the week.]

Again, I am very sorry to hear of your friend's injury. I hope she is doing well. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to let me know.

And you will decide this, of course. [She laughs a little- but only a little. She winces again before she stops.] You are very much your father's daughter.

I have your word that you will tread lightly, then? I wish for no more bloodshed, particularly in my name.

Daddy would worry about you just as much if he were here. [He'd probably be a bit more ticked really.

She's quiet for a moment, thoughtful. And then she sighs.] You have my word. I was not meaning to hurt them. [Much. And she can probably tell that 'much' is silently tacked on at the end there.]

[Stop making sense, Nuala.]

All that matters is that Artanis was hurt.

[That's not even mentioning that her mother was around before the world even existed.]

Thank you, Leia. We both appreciate it. I gathered everything I think we might need in the immediate future but I will let you know.

And likely I would not be able to reason successfully with him. [Galadriel is stubborn, but even she can't out-stubborn Thingol. She would make an attempt, of course, and likely the whole thing would blow up in both of their faces.

Yes, far better to be dealing with Lúthien.]

Good. [She seems to relax now that she has that reassurance, sitting back and closing her eyes for a moment.] I wish that to apply to the woman who injured me as well, Lúthien. You are not to seek retribution.

It would be unfortunate if you intended this threat to stand as final warning to someone who may not realize it is intended for her.

( she says it very mildly. )

[Well, Leia is technically a princess of two planets and a race of fuzzy bear-like humanoids.]

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't offer to assist you after all. Also, my father speaks of a Galadriel in the Gardens. Do you know who she is?

[She's definitely not telling Artanis about this.] Artanis and Galadriel are the same person.

I do try.

[Probably best not to, frankly.] Ah, that would explain a lot. Dad really seems to respect her, so I'm glad that she's safe and in good hands. [If not a little overly-protective, not that Leia blames her one bit. She did threaten to shoot Biggs Darklighter if he hurt her brother after all.]

Lúthien, how would you like to learn to shoot a blaster? I have a few extra here and would gladly make time to teach you how to do so properly.

Lúthien, I'm sorry this happened but I've been working with the people affected by this and the dreams rendered people completely unable to tell what's real and what's in their heads. They couldn't control themselves.

Please, don't hold it against them. I'm sure most of them wouldn't have done what they did willingly.

Artanis was still hurt and in a place we have have never had to worry about our safety before.

Artanis is wonderful. I am not at all surprised to hear of anyone that respects her. [Lu's protectiveness is mild compared to how Thingol would be. Or Melian.]

Hm, a blaster? [Consider her interested.]

Yes, she was hurt, so take care of her and make sure she recovers. That's all you can do. This entire ship is dangerous and unpredictable and you shouldn't ever let down your guard, but threatening someone who didn't mean to harm anyone won't solve anything. I doubt this person will be showing her face anytime soon anyway. She's probably feeling very guilty. She may not even know what she's done.

I suppose it would be. [Sigh.]

Likely? You would not be able to at all. [She wouldn't be surprised at her trying to out-stubborn him though.]

I am here, am I not? [And it's not just because she's not very useful outside the gardens. Also wow, way to be bossy, Artanis.]
